Unlike the first two games, Shepard talks without your consent, and HALF of all the conversations are on "auto-pilot", devoid of dialogue choices, and during those, Shepard says some of the stupidest shit I've ever heard.
And certain choices you are "given", Shepard will independently change his mind.
Shepard no longer feels like he is "your" character.

It's included in Origin Access which is 5 bucks/month (without the big DLCs though). It's not a terrible game by any means, you just have to come to terms with how poorly executed the premise is. You're supposed to make tough decisions to save the galaxy but you can pick the pick the blueilled virtue signaling option every time regardless of what would be the realistic choice. I only really remember 2 choices that weren't following that pattern and the game goes out of its way to make sure you know it ("look, make the though choice but we guarantee you it's better even in the short run"). Then there's also the fact that time is supposed to be crucial but you have all the time in the world to run errand missions for random people.

The success of a video game and it's rendering engine are separated to such an extent that I'm not even sure how you were able to draw this conclusion.
There are literally thousands of "successful" (monetarily or otherwise) video games with shitty, low-quality graphics.
There are just as many games with great graphics that are horribly, horribly shitty games.
It's a relatively well-known truth in the gaming community that having great graphics does not, in any way, correlate to having a great game.
Whether or not a game's rendering engine was programmed by women is irrelevant to it's end-result quality.
And while I realize maybe I'm in the wrong sub to make this next comment... you should realize that computer programming was originally viewed as a women's occupation, and at it's inception was an industry staffed almost entirely by women, resulting in some of the earliest achievements in computing to come from women (such as Grace Hopper building the first-ever compiler, or Margaret Hamilton who wrote the code which literally took us to the moon with the Apollo space program).
For what it's worth... these days BioWare is using EA's Frostbite 3 engine for all games, which (when considering it's age and the gamedev scene around the time it was first introduced) was likely developed mostly by men.

Long gone are those legendary days of Neverwinter Nights, KOTOR, Dragon Age (the good ones) and the Mass Effect Trilogy. In the last 2 years they managed to kill 2 of their best franchises through SJW bullcrap. The gameplay became simplistic and there's no lvl/character management anymore, the stories became weak and the characters are impossible to relate with, on top of that you can see hints of "mobile games" all over the design. I hope this ladies GTFO of the industry when Bioware gets murdered, after all EA has a flawless record of killing every single company they acquire after a while through retarded management.

So sad. I grew up playing baldurs gate at a friends house, got Neverwinter nights and played it to death. Then got Kotor and loved it.
Mass effect 1 was one of the best RPGs to date and the other two were alright (lets not talk about the ending of 3...).
Dragon age: origins was fantastic.
Now I wouldn't touch a bioware game if I was paid to do it. They are not coming back out of this.
