My ex got fat while we were still dating and that was fine, whatever love is love right? But one day he held me down and farted in my face and smothered my face in it until I started crying and threw up, all the while laughing like a maniac. Then he got the trash stash thing going on thinking it was funny. The drinking got heavier, he got meaner, would say shit like “one day I’m going to leave you for the younger prettier version,” and it just goes on and on. I’ve been free from that for over 4 years now but all I can think is just holy fuck, why did I put up with it for SO LONG? Every time I see a post from this sub it just reminds me to continuously recognize LVM signs and stay the fuck away. I won’t take any more. I’d rather die single.

My ex started peeing in a bottle during the night, instead of getting up and going to the toilet. He eventually got tired of the bottle and got a piss pot, like the fucking Victorians did. The stench was horrible, because unlike the Victorians (who emptied every single morning), he would only empty it every 3 or 4 days.

This is the essence of r/deadbedrooms. It's full to the brim with mostly failing relationships, but men don't care to see that, all they can see is the lack of sex and whine and complain about how they're suffering and their needs aren't being met.

The lack of sex is a symptom of the relationship, not an active problem in itself. Yet that is all they want to fix. Because they're selfish. They don't care about the rest of the relationship that needs work. They don't care if their partner is miserable in order to make them happy, because that's compromise, right? Only is it compromise in their heads. They get what they want at the cost of everyone else, even the person they're supposed to care about the most.

Holy shit. This is my ex husband and me.

He was fat because he only ate junk food;

He didn’t shower often because he said he was too depressed to;

He didn’t get haircuts or do his hair;

He didn’t trim his beard;

He always walked around in his underwear after sleeping half of the day;

He dressed like crap and said it was because he was fat, but anyone can dress fine;

He always said I abused him because I screamed at him. Mind you, I was screaming because I needed help around the house and he NEVER gave me any. I felt overwhelmed

And on top of everything else he’d try to fuck me any time of the day. It would be 2 in the afternoon and I’d be doing something and he’d try and would make me feel bad if I refused.

After a while I started doing it just to make him shut up, but it wasn’t enough and he wanted it every day. He wouldn’t last long so I started doing it every day to get it over with. But then he started demanding that I have orgasms (from clitoral stimulation, which is how I have them) because he said if I didn’t have orgasms it meant I didn’t love him. And yeah at that point I didn’t love him anymore, but if I didn’t have orgasms he would also get angry and become controlling. So it was the worst thing. I started trying real hard to come as quick as I could but he disgusted me so much, he was so ugly and controlling that his demand that I enjoy the sex made sex with him even less enjoyable for me, and I stopped sleeping with him altogether.
