I'm a 21 year old woman. I've sworn off of dating and plan to continue for my personal safety. But I always ask myself, why is it that out of all the men who are attracted to me that nerdy types tend to gravitate towards me the most?

Here's a few thoughts so far:

I'm a blunt, intelligent type of woman. The early 20s good-looking guy who has the looks to get a number of women probably doesn't think it's worth his time to try and convince me to fuck him since it's pretty visible within speaking to me for 10 minutes or so that I don't like bullshitters. On the other hand, I currently live with a girl who is pursued by the Chad types because she's naive enough to give in to their low-effort behavior, like ghosting, blowing women off, etc.

Nerdy guys are smarter about their manipulation and the bad ones are total snakes. Quite a few of them figure that their nerdiness works for them as a guise since nerds tend to be stereotyped as the sweet, pure type of guy that will treat you right. Women do believe this, but trust me when I say that it's only a matter of time before they turn into total assholes.

I feel like I've always settled for the nerdy types because "a similar personality to mine!" "hobbies!" "they're more down to earth and less likely to be assholes!" and let me just say that I'm sick and tired of feeling like I've ultimately settled when I realize that they too are not much better from the Chad that doesn't share any of the same hobbies, but at least can turn me on physically. Nerdy types, like 99% of men, tend to be misogynistic, porn-addicted males.

Part of me resents the fact that despite the fact that my dating pool is skewed, since being an attractive woman with decent intelligence and bluntness makes the nerd types swoon and think that I'd rather go for a guy like them instead of a man who is physically my equal. It always leads to entitlement and ultimately, shock from these types of men that a smart, accomplished woman who is an 8/10 isn't interested. Worst is that they try to use this tone of "I'm not like all other men" to suck you in.

Please respond if any of you relate to this and want to provide any insight or speculation. Or even thoughts from women who don't experience this, I'm very interested to see what everyone has to say (except for men who brigade--please fuck off, thanks).
