I read some of the comments in that thread because my boyfriend screenshotted some to me. Some men really have the audacity to claim that there is no such thing as the patriarchy, that poor men aren’t privileged and only rich men are privileged, and that affirmative action in the past 50 years has corrected for all prior female inequality. Another commenter claimed that misogyny is taught by mothers because women are the primary caregivers, so any female inequality that exists is due to women (but somehow the patriarchy doesn’t exist? Women just will stupidly support policies that don’t benefit them?)

Honestly I knew Reddit was a misogynistic platform but my boyfriend called out those comments and got downvoted to oblivion. If men can’t even listen to other men on women’s issues, they will literally never listen to women.
