According to the traditional western philosophy (classic Greeks), a virtuous person would practice the continence, and this encompasses women and men. On the other hand, empirically speaking, it's historically demonstrated that men would cheat more than women (same as nowadays), thereby making this bad behaviour more acceptable in terms of societal views, also women are more prone to forgive an infidelity.

Circumstances can change the outcome of a behaviour, making it more or less ethically acceptable, for instance the richer the person, the worst its greed. One can say that there are extenuating and aggravating factors.

Considering that men and women have different circumstances, such as social and biological, can the same behaviour have the same outcome on terms of ethics?
