This kind of shit is why back in the 90s many of us starting insisting on paying our own way on dates. For many of us, it wasn't a feminist thing or trying to be equal. We just didn't want to get accused of "using" the guy and get attacked or have him be angry that he bought us a meal and we didn't let him fuck us for it. I feel like thats been painted as an empowerment thing today but for myself and every woman I knew who dated back then it was a safety issue. I had a man scream in my face that he bought me dinner when I declined to blow him and I threw $40 at him and ran like hell. We used to practice running in heels in case you needed to get away on a date. It was not a feminist female empowerment thing, we started paying because we were afraid.

But it didn't help us any. You could pay for the entire date, pay for him too, and that type of man would still become enraged because you "wasted his time." If we don't fuck them, they're enraged and we're using them. There is no winning or doing anything right to them unless we let them rape us. They want us all to be the cheapest prostitutes ever, but then if we do that we're shamed and insulted for it and not good enough for them. There is nothing we can do right.

This study is really lame. We already know that people with dark triad personality types are more likely to engage in bad/abusive behaviour. Note that such personalities are predominantly seen in men. It is essentially a hyper masculine personality. Women who behave more like men are more likely to be manipulative and abusive, shocker, men suck.

I'm less sociable than average and I find it particularly grueling to spend one on one time with someone I've no interest in talking to, and have nothing in common with. I would never do that just for food. I've gone on ONE date that I wasn't enthusiastic about beforehand and it was hell. Never again.

As a researcher I have tons of questions. But I also didn't want to pay for the study to find out.

What is their sample size? N = ??

33% out of only 50 responses isn't huge. That's 16 out of 50 but the bigger question is where did they get the 50 women. Depending on the sampling type, This could be hugely bias. Where did they get their sample? What was the age range etc etc

They say they did the study in the US but obviously they didnt do a population study so what was their sample

The author clearly omitted important information to creat a narrative

Here are the popular choices in case you were wondering:

It makes sense to me that it's dark triad women who come up with the scheme of going on dates just to get free meals.

I don't think men should refuse to pay on dates just because of the chance that they could be dealing with such a woman. Don't punish everyone for the behavior of a few. It's not like having sex. Suppose you go on 10 dates and one of them used you for free food without being interested in possibly dating you. You haven't endangered yourself, you just got your costs higher by 10%. Seems like an acceptable risk tax to dating. They can also filter for women where it seems realistic that this woman could be interested in them.

Men also have more dark triad traits than women, so overall there's more men using women than vice versa.
