It's been almost two years since I left my abusive marriage. In that time, I have not touched dating with a 10-foot pole. All of my female friends from before my divorce are either married, engaged, or cohabiting with a male. During the pandemic and my divorce, I was dismayed to see that few of them extended offers to include me in a pandemic pod or even checked in on me regularly; instead they were content to withdraw into their little nuclear bubble with their significant other/children.

I tried to find new female friends through Bumble BFF as the pandemic restrictions started lifting. I thought I had met two promising friends, who were both single or recently out of a relationship. To my dismay, as soon as some male started showing interest in them, both of these women started literally spending all of their time with these men, through phone calls. Both of these women literally pick up and fly to these men who live in other states (while the men just stay put). I am disgusted and cannot seem to find a woman anywhere for friendship who puts female friendship first. Every woman is either already cohabiting/married/engaged or desperately visiting men in other states to get that way.

This forum is the only place I can find women who can be skeptical of chasing men/settling for crumbs (the egg never chases the sperm).

I've found my empowerment free from men and men's approval, but I am sitting lonely, longing for sisterhood and friendship covens. Where do I meet them? And/or, how do I emotionally cope with the loneliness among men-chasing women?
