judge judy is my hero. This wasnt really a pussy pass 100% but Judy never gives those passes. Not even for herself. Ive seen an interview or two when she shut down any nonsense about how shes a strong female judge or she was a great female lawyer in a mostly male field. She always shuts it down and is like "Im a judge. Not a female judge. Im a judge" and she really doesnt wanna hear someone ask her how she was able to rise to prominence and how it was harder cause she was a woman in mans field. She just says it didnt stop her, and she didnt blame every misstep or bad circumstance on people treating her like lady and not letting her succeed. At the same time of not letting gender define her, she actually has a mentor group for young women coming up in the business world. you know what her first point she goes over with them? dont sell yourself short. Demand in the interview phase of hiring for more money and dont take any position that someones cutting you a break by letting you have a job as a favor. When you go to be hired, you are doing them a service, not the other way around. too many women will say they need a job in their interviews and talk about what theyre going through instead of what theyre bringing to the company. Thats the first thing she goes over. After that its focus is on follow through and punctuallity and stuff. either way, i love this woman.
