Google Maps is now highlighting if a business is women-led. Are they insinuating that we shouldn't support a restaurant if its not owned by a woman?

You really need to read some of the anti-white/anti-male nonsense that Google employees gleefully post - while never getting in trouble for their racism/sexism even when reported to HR.

Read the complaint accompanied by dozens of screenshots. It's really quite amazing that this kind of discrimination is being allowed.

[+]KingRobotPrince1 points 8 years ago* [recovered] (24 children) | Copy Link

Only made it through 30 pages so far.

Fuck me, Google is populated by the ranting, purple haired, gender studies students who want to kill everyone who isn't a far-left liberal nutcase. How can they study a scientific subject but be so insane?

They actually want to have more than 50% women to achieve "gender equality". And if you complain about any of their clearly discriminatory practices you get harassed and fired. Even if you simply voted for Trump it seems like your days are numbered.

What a horrible place to work.

It's literally a 1984, animal farm, Orwellian nightmare! How do these people not realise that they're being totally oppressive and fascist? At this rate Trump will see another four years easily.

I hope to god that the courts throw the book at them!

Fuck me, Google is populated by the ranting, purple haired, gender studies students who want to kill everyone who isn't a far-left liberal nutcase.

And the amount of white knights - it was fucking embarrassing. Seriously, their patronising attitude was cringey and sad. I feel that it is more of an issue than Damore's view on how best to manage diversity.

[–]M60P 41 points42 points43 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Someone should ask: If 50% women is so important then why dont we have 50% female prisoners? Why dont we have 50% female child support payers?

[–]MattClark0995 31 points32 points33 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

50% female homeless, 50% female workplace deaths, 50% female college graduates, 50% murder/assault victims. That list can easily go on. They only want "equality" in the good areas.

[–]desderon 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

50% miners, 50% waste pickers... The list goes on and on.

[–]YetAnotherCommenter 16 points17 points18 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How can they study a scientific subject but be so insane?

A lot of them aren't coders or software engineers. A lot of them work in HR, PR, visual design, advertising/marketing etc.

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points18 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I hope to god that the courts throw the book at them!

The courts are also infiltrated so that might not happen but I share your hope. I truly do

These people have no similarities to the traditional left, at least not the mainstream of the American left. They are spoiled, authoritarian, man-hating, identitarian nutbars being enabled by plutocrats.

[–]MattClark0995 36 points37 points38 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Have you read any left wing msm outlets recently? Go on to any of them and type "whites" or "white men" in and read some of the juicy results.

Remember when Salon, Comedy Central and Huffington Post were filled with joy after Otto Warmbier was sentenced to 14 years hard labor for allegedly tearing down a propaganda poster? Reminder, he suffered torture at hands of NK and first thing his parents saw of him was him going into a seizure from brain damage.

They loved his misery for no other reason than him being a white male. This is the new left, white/male hating nutjobs.

[+]joehilly -19 points-18 points-17 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

None of those publication are leftist. They are right wing corporatist/imperialist while also supporting feminism and identity politics, ie a reflection of the Democratic party, the Ford Foundation, Soros groups etc. They barely even discuss class. If you want to read a leftist publication visit a site like Counterpunch or Information Clearing House.

[–]C4H8N8O8 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

That's Marxism, not leftism. You can be leftist whitout Marxism

[–]joehilly 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Not sure what you're talking about. Marx is merely one figure on the left. His theories (or at least proposed solutions) are opposed by left-libertarians, democratic socialists and anarchists. liberals have always been right wing economically. They embrace identity politics because it's a great distraction from class.

[–]C4H8N8O8 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Class warfare is part of Marxism retoric. Leftism started with the french revolution. There were no economic classes there.

Defining politics as left and right is something very stupid to do these days, but good look convincing people. At least is a good indicator of who knows a bit of what he is talking about.

[–]joehilly 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Class warfare is part of Marxism retoric.

Socialist ideas long predate Marx. In fact Marx borrowed most of his ideas from other philosophers like Proudhon.

Leftism started with the french revolution.

No that's false. What you would call "leftist" ideas (including "class warfare") actually began with early Christian sects.

[–]YetAnotherCommenter 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

These people have no similarities to the traditional left

What do you mean? The Marxist old left? Or?

at least not the mainstream of the American left

Do you mean left-liberals (i.e. those who are socially basically libertarian, but advocate a social-democratic mixed economy rather than a pure market economy)?

Well left-liberals are not the mainstream of the American left, certainly not any more.

[–]EricAllonde -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But that's exactly what the Left has become, nowadays.

[–]prodiver 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

They actually want to have more than 50% women to achieve "gender equality".

Google shouldn't even have 50% women, at least in tech jobs.

18% of computer science majors are female, so if you are hiring fairly, with absolutely no gender discrimination, then about 18% of your programmers will be female.

[–]KingRobotPrince 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly what I was thinking.

Also, given the gender disparity, what is the quality of the women you hire if you are hiring a much larger portion of the pool of available female talent?

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

18% of computer science majors are female, so if you are hiring fairly, with absolutely no gender discrimination, then about 18% of your programmers will be female.

You're assuming females are as likely as men to be the best of the best at computer science. Do you have ANY data to support this claim? From what I've seen every competition is dominated by whites & asian males*. I'd be surprised if even 1% were women of the top contenders.

[–]prodiver 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

From what I've seen every competition is dominated by whites & asians.

50% of white and asian people are female.

Are you trying to say black people are bad at computer science??

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Are you trying to say black people are bad at computer science??

No, I made a typo and wrote too fast. Whites & asian males is what was supposed to be written.

Anyway. I am assuming you have zero evidence to support your initial assumption.

[–]killcat 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Bad no, but they don't seem to be as interested in it as others.

We're so far down the rabbit hole. Like, how can a grown adult with half a brain not think that is just the height of ridiculousness?

[–]spar101 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

There is the possibility that person filled in that stuff for the lolz

When they made us do SJW surveys and crap for some college courses, i usually identified as "Avatar: The Last AirGender"

[–]Superspathi 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm afraid not. They are deadly serious. They have policies on the correct pronouns to use when addressing plural beings.

I'm still confused about what bathroom the dragonkin ornate building uses. I guess you have to attend the brown bag session.

[–]peanutbutterjams 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Meh. I'd totally attend that event. Why not? They're not hurting anyone. Now, if they were saying they deserve special consideration because they're a yellow-scaled wingless dragonkin who sidelines as an expensive ornate building, that's another matter.

[–]duffelbagninja 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

expansive not expensive. Although expansive and ornate implies expensive...

And if it is a typo , I like the typo of expansive...it is more ornate.

[–]peanutbutterjams 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

hah, my bad, thanks. I read it as expensive.

I prefer expansive as well - it implies a richer backstory.

[–]desderon 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

It is still insane even if its not directly hurting anyone and denotes personality issues that will come out at some point. Its worrisome, I would not want to be or work around such person.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think he's just trolling, though. Maybe it's just Poe's law, but I can't believe that isn't parody lol

[+]peanutbutterjams -11 points-10 points-9 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

How is it insane? We used to think homosexuality was insane. We used to think VOYEURISM was insane and if you look at the statistics on porn use, that's a pretty insane thing to think.

So what if they think they're a whatever? That's a different way to live, and it's their pursuit of happiness. If it's not hurting anyone then suppressing it is spitting in the face of Every. Single. Man. who fought, suffered and died to enshrine the right to be an individual.

YOU don't have to be a yellow-scaled wingless dragonkin, anymore than than you have to be a chaps-wearing dancer in the Gay Pride parade (as fun as that may be).

You be you, they be them, and everyone respects each other's individuality. Honestly, what could be better than that?

[–]desderon 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I do dislike the crazy seeking attention gay stereotype types. I dislike any person that needs to have histrionic personalities to constantly seek attention, gay or hetero. These type of personalities are light anti social and hurt social dynamics, they end up poisoning social relationships.

You are gay, you like to fuck other dudes in the ass? Fine by me but do not use it as an excuse to behave in an attention seeking way or any other toxic personality.

And the people who feel the need to define themselves as whatever stupid shit they have imagined to feel more unique are showing these type of behaviour and I don't want them around me. Life is exhausting and complicated enough to be dealing with these type of personalities. Surround yourself of quality people with sociable personalities that don't need attention on them all the time and you'll see how your quality of life increases.

[–]Superspathi 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

My way of being is to mock the hell out of adults who indulge themselves in acting like children. And to not respect them. And to not select them for responsibility.

[–]peanutbutterjams 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Your rights ends where mine begin. Dragonkin doesn't impinge on your rights. Your 'way of being' impinges upon mine. It's a non-starter.

Be a democrat, man.

[–]Superspathi 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I am opposed to democracy.

[–]peanutbutterjams 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

And in favour of...?

[–]Superspathi 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Why not? Well if I attended, and laughed out loud at the presentation I'd get flayed alive. The only opinion permitted on dragonkin ornate buildings is rapt adoration and total acceptance.

[–]peanutbutterjams 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Expansive ornate buildings. Did you just seriously assume their square footage?

If you knew you're likely to laugh at them, why would you attend?

[–]mcavvacm 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's good though, it tells me instantly you're clinically insane and that I should keep my distance to ensure my safety.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's really quite amazing that this kind of discrimination is being allowed.

Not really. Bigger the company the more likely this is going to happen and that be allowed within the company. The kicker here tho is this would be the second time Google has been sued over a blacklist. Last time California took them to court and won. So if James claims have any truth to them Google is screwed.

Houston PD told me not to bother, that, at the time, they were hiring only Hispanic females. They were polite, and offered it as a “courtesy call”. Source: early 90’s, upon leaving the Army

[–]BlindGardener 32 points33 points34 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Fort Wayne pd told my uncle he was too short.

His response was to find a dead skunk and throw it at the mayor during a parade.

[–]GrandPappyWilliams 19 points20 points21 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I like your uncle.

[–]Krissam 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

To be fair though, size is actually a reasonable requirement for the PD, no matter how much it sucks for your uncle.

(I'm assuming here he was actually too short and it wasn't just some lame excuse)

[–]BlindGardener 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He's 5'2" if I remember correctly. About 2" shorter than the average american woman his age. His son, my cousin, is 5'.

[–]ScarpaDiem 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

To be fair, maybe they were specifically looking for female, Spanish speaking officers to create a sense of comfort for female, Spanish speaking victims which were likely on the rise in the 90's.

[–]thetarget3 10 points11 points12 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

To be fair, that's still racist and sexist discrimination and would never fly if it privileged white men.

It's about time to end double standards. Remember KELLY ELLIS, forger google employee who tirelessly disparages men on Twitter? She filed lawsuit against google too. Now it's time for males to seek same rights. Enough is enough.

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points20 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Eugh, I swear Ellis is the most insufferable SJW on the whole fucking internet.

[–]spar101 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's kind of funny that Google can be so incompetent that they can be sued for discrimination against white dudes and SJWS at the same time.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What I bet is happening is that they are discriminating against men, whites, and Asians but not hard enough to satisfy insane SJWs so they files lawsuits too.

[–]autotldr 19 points20 points21 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 79%. (I'm a bot)

His claims: that Google unfairly discriminates against white men whose political views are unpopular with its executives.

The lawsuit, filed by Dhillon Law Group, says it aims to represent all employees of Google who've been discriminated against due to their "Perceived conservative political views by Google," due to "Their male gender by Google" and "Due to their Caucasian race by Google."

In September, three female former Google employees filed a lawsuit against the company, saying it pays women at all levels of the company less than men, as well as assigns them lower job tiers with less opportunity for upward mobility.

Damore is no conservative. White males is enough (two protected classes), and I suspect that is the subject of his suit.

Edit: I stand corrected. His is claiming discrimination against conservatives too.

https://www.scribd.com/document/368700776/James-Damore-v-Google-Class-Action-Complaint#from_embed

[–]stidf 14 points15 points16 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Its a class action law suit with 2 main plaintifs. Damore's complaint is over gender discrimination, the other guy GUDEMAN, is bringing the stuff about being a conservative. Damore hits on the politics stuff as his example as being similar to the race issue. Also because it frequently gets brought up together in HR diversity training no matter where you work.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Even if he is not a conservative, being called out for being anything other than the preffered political affiliation gives his case support. It just so happens that the undesired political affiliation is conservativism.

[–]Newbosterone 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

California has laws prohibiting workplace discrimination on the basis of politics. I don't know if this was filed in state or Federal court.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Filed in state court. If his claims have any truth its a slam dunk case and would also get the state labor board involved as well.

[–]FadingEcho 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If it's California, it likely reads you can't discriminate based on leftist politics.

[–]Newbosterone 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Actually, no. But it was passed in the '30s to protect Leftists ranging from unionists to outright Communists.

[–]YetAnotherCommenter 18 points19 points20 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, and he isn't.

On his twitter bio he calls himself a centrist. In the memo itself he said he was an individualist and had classical liberal sympathies, so he sounds somewhere between a centrist and a libertarian.

The google mob considers him a nazi shitlord.

Curious to see how turns out. My bet is that Google will settle out of court. If the lawsuit is successful, there will loads of similar lawsuits.

[–]MyNameIsSaifa 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Depends if the senior management really has bought in to the progressivism cult, I can see them dragging it out in court to cost him as much as possible just to spite him.

Virtue-signalling male-shaming liberals have taken over mainstream media and our educational system. Conservatives & Centrists (and Egalitarians) MUST unite to fight liberal bias in our media, education, judiciary and popular culture.

The most ridiculous (or funniest) aspect about this memo debacle back then was how lots of female Google employees decided to stay away from work to protest although their employer was unanimously on their side and fired the guy almost immediately. Brats. Lazy, hypocritical brats, that's what modern feminists, SJWs etc. are.

Are we sure it's for white male conservatives specifically? I thought it was just for men in general.

[–]BlindNowhereMan 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

it's for 3 separate categories of people, whites, males and conservatives.

This includes minority conservatives, minority males, female conservatives, white females... etc

[–]Greg_W_Allan 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, Google employs children.

I've come back to edit this after some thought.

I admit I'm an old bastard. From the seventies to nineties I worked in large system, large database environments mostly in big government settings. These were seriously powerful computers and very large, complex databases.

I feel privileged by the experience for a number of reasons. Primary among them was the quality of the people I got to work with. High levels of professionalism and integrity.

In the past fifteen years I've gone into the tax field, still quite technical but more client oriented. No choice but to work for accounting firms. I get plenty of contact with businesses of all sizes. Must say I've not encountered the levels of professionalism OR integrity that I was used to. It's still been quite OK though and I really enjoy the work.

Google? From what I'm seeing in that document I would detest working for them. Even if they offered me the sun, the moon and the stars I reckon I'd still want an undertaking that I didn't have to deal with anybody under thirty five AND any of those mentioned in the filing.

Does he have a case? I mean from a legal standpoint

[–][deleted] 15 points16 points17 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Given the laws that the case states they breached, he most definitely does. Especially since they're demanding a jury trial.

[–]MyNameIsSaifa 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Good luck finding an unbiased jury for that

[–]FadingEcho 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In California.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is why you have a jury selection process....

[–]k12314 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good. I'm a hardcore leftist but even I can't stand that kind of shit. It's good to have people with differing/conflicting ideologies around. It makes people think and can make them consider different worldviews, unless they're narrow minded assholes which, sadly, are plentiful on every side of the political spectrum.

[–]Prophet6000 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I hope he wins.

[–]Drezzzire 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I was wondering why the hell he didn't do it before. I hope he gets some backing on this. Google deserves to be fucked in the ass for that ridiculous display of discrimination.

Funny you say that when the big google job advertisement video on your link is specifically targeting black men and women. I guess diversity means black

[+]kittenpantzen -12 points-11 points-10 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I guess diversity means black

Given that their workforce was 2% Black in 2016, yes. If their workforce contained only a small sliver of White people, then there would be a solid argument for targeting potential White employees under their diversity program.

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points19 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

yes

That's discrimination and not diversity.

[–]Dio_Landa 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Even I'm latino and I think you are being racist/discriminating.

Wow, a minority thinks you are being intolerant/racist, go figure :/

[–]CAMYtheCOCONUT 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You completely missed the point of their sentence "I guess diversity means black". Diversity should not ever be about race, that is a boiled down and superficial and actually racist way to think about diversity. It should be about diversity of intellect, experience, and character. If you think it should be about skin color, then you must think that the color correlates with intellect, experience, and character, and so including a black guy will fulfill the goals of diversity simply due to the color, which is both false and racist. It's the modern era, employers don't care that you're black or white, they care that you're a good and fitting person for the workplace, so perpetuating these color requirements is a tie that holds racial stereotypes and superficial categorization in place, rather than rising above that and noticing the things that matter.

It's almost like white dudes are pretty good at technology - those fuckers invented computers and programming and all that gobblety-goop. Better stop them, right?!?

[+]bluefootedpig -21 points-20 points-19 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

It's almost like whites typically have more money and therefore can expose their children to computers. Better keep blacks down right?

[–]Pontius23 19 points20 points21 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How hard do you think it is to get a computer today? It's not like we're living in 1970.

Or maybe black parents just suck at raising a family? Just look at the Asians, they kick white asses in academics/math/technology. Maybe it's genetic... Maybe it's cultural... Maybe you just suck... Maybe you just got the short end of the stick and can't get over it instead of bettering your children.

Can I be an asshole to you because your people once killed my people? You owe me reparations too, $1 a day with 8% interest, for about 200 years. Pay up!

Jesus H Christ, I was looking out for a /s and I didn't find it. You honestly believe this don't you?

[–]RacelessSexlessName 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hmm... not that part really, but it's indicative of the "black lifestyle" / cultural issues (I mean propping up nasty women, single motherhood, gang-banging, drug slinging, theft, and the things rap music disproportionately sings about (like, I dunno, murder and drugs and ho's...) If you teach your children that stuff is acceptable and expected... You asked for your own results, why be surprised when their kids turn out like shit.

I have similar opinions of certain white cultures... like REAL hillbillies, or the insanely overly stupid ones because the parents were over protective helicopters...

[–]joehilly 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The only racist person I see here is you.

If you're looking for someone to blame for current black poverty (plenty of white people are also poor, incidentally), you could start by blaming the plutocrats of all races who work to make the rich richer and the poor poorer. Blaming "whites" as a group is not only racist but an idiotic strategy -- assuming you're actually interested in helping black people rather than playing identity politics.

Unlike blacks & minorities that are favored by Google & lots of other hiring processes, white males are being discriminated against in the real world

Better keep blacks down right?

Who exactly is it that are keeping blacks down? Because everywhere I look whites are doing their best to give blacks more opportunities through healthcare, better hiring, minority support, african financial support but instead of being grateful you act entitled and spiteful.

Perhaps it's time to cut ALL HELP and let black communities rot on their own? Otherwise shut the fuck up and say 'thank you' for our help. We do it out of love but I don't see the love returned

Should the discrimination faced by white male conservatives be adressed?
If Yes, then why do you feel the need to attack those that do something about this problem?
If No, then why should we not return the favor and discrimate you?

I agree that a company shouldn’t discriminate against any demographic. If the claims are true, then Google is acting disgracefully and as a centre-left person, I think they should do more to tackle discrimination on all fronts. Tolerance for EVERYONE is name of the game. However, white male conservatives form the majority of most positions of power from CEOS to boardmen of companies to positions in government. If you’re a smart, well-qualified white male conservative, why not go for those opportunities as well? The world’s your oyster. Forget Google if you feel it’s discriminative because you have so much going for you elsewhere and it’s difficult to change work cultures unless it’s something as popular as the #MeToo movement.

[–]YetAnotherCommenter 18 points19 points20 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

However, white male conservatives form the majority of most positions of power from CEOS to boardmen of companies to positions in government.

Seriously you think most corporate/executive types are conservative? Why did all that corporate money back Hillary then? Explain Soros and Bezos. Most Silicon Valley rich people are on the left, with a few libertarians (such as Thiel), but I don't see many conservatives.

Indeed, statistics show wealthier people become less conservative (and vice-versa). You'd expect libertarians to be more common than conservatives on upper levels of income.
