It's not just Reddit or even online; in general the only pockets of society were males' issues are discussed is in MRA circles, while the rest of the world in general is either completely ignorant about them or don't give a shit

The idea that females are oppressed and have it so much worse than males is so ingrained into people's minds pretty much from birth that it's almost impossible to have a rational conversation about it with most people. Look at this for example: it says

the side that's actually oppressed

with absolutely no evidence and gets upvoted because generally people just accept it as as unquestionable of a truth as saying the grass is green. "Females are oppressed; males are privileged" is just something people are taught. They usually don't attempt to nor could they back up the claim with any evidence

And when you do present evidence about discrimination against males, the response is

If you're such egalitarians, why not just turn it into a HUMAN problem? YOU'RE the one that turned it into a MAN problem.

The biggest problem I have with trying to debate people about feminism is the first thing they do for whatever reason is start off by lying about me when my post history is right fucking there. I'm not talking about an honest mistake by the way or a bit of misreading, just blatant lying.

Now that's a tricky problem we need to get past, I can handle it but so much time is wasted by the morons who do this and I suspect that is on purpose, because they're trying to make it about what you did and didn't say even though there's a public record of it and they're just trying to avoid the topics you want to debate them on.

I wonder if it's even worth responding to them since it's not like they want to discuss the subjects they attack people on anyway.

All men believe themselves privileged because they are constantly told that they are. Most men will only begin to question it when something happens to them which displays what a lie male privilege is.

One of the big talking points about the evils of slavery involves the discussion of families being torn apart and children left without parents. When children are ripped from fathers for no reason today it's not even a blip on the radar. I'm sure someone will feel real bad about it 150 years from now.

As a woman, I don't understand why other women hate this sub. If feminists want equality, they need to have equality for BOTH genders.

Great example: If a man falls victim to domestic abuse, he is often times 'looked down on'. Men have a stereotype of being weak if a woman abuses him, but you tell me how he can defend himself and not be to blame for the domestic abuse?

That's something I've noticed more and more; the old "Man with a cold vs. Woman with a cold" argument when Men talk about having issues ( Though this one is amped up with a broken leg vs. a stubbed toe).

First, the idea that any illness or injury turns men infantalizes them is absurd. It's a very old and tired trope that is trotted out to make women superior.

Second, why should one illness or injury go untreated or be belittled because of someone's gender? It's pure misandry.

Even if you accept the oppressor/oppressed dichotomy, it still makes sense to support rights for the 'oppressor' because if the 'oppressor' doesn't have those rights, the oppressed never will.

For example, women would have never got the vote if nobody could vote.

Several years ago I noted that when the economy crashes, so will socialist programs like feminism. Then I despaired when I discovered Martin Armstrong's solution, which would save the government. But then my spirits lifted when Armstrong (and then many other even more authoritative sources) revealed that we are starting a new dangerous cold period, if not a new mini ice age, that will wreak havoc on the socialist programs. So take heart. Nature will help to correct socialist perversions, such as feminism. Oh, and the grand solar minimum is happening now. The winters of 2018 and 2019 will be a wake up call.

We're not making a difference because most of us don't do anything. Myself included. I'm not casting stones. I'm as bad as any. The climate is inhospitable to our ideas which makes it incredibly hard to be open and active for this cause without alienating personal and more importantly, professional connections.

Many people are standing up loud and proud of their MRA status and they should be celebrated but until we can get a foot in the door and ease up some of the hostility toward MRA's, most will only speak of it in safe spaces or on the internet. (or kind of agree with out realizing they have the option to even join in because feminism "is just the way it is")

We are at the same point feminism was at in the 50/60s. Easy to dismiss and laughable and absurd. It's a long battle ahead. One that won't necessarily get better in any one period. It will take gradual slow generational shifts just like feminism.

Yes, there's a way to go before (whatever destination you had in mind). But then:

1) Rome wasn't built in a day (as the saying has it); and

2) Go read about the impact and effects Cassie Jaye's The Red Pill is having.

There are more voices there are out there questioning the current Zeitgeist and putting forward the view from the male side of the fence than before. And the more others read or watch or think, the more they realise that they too have a right (if not a responsibility) to dissent. The march of a thousand miles starts with the first step and all that.

FYI, the divorce statistic is about as misleading as the wage gap, because neither indicate discrimination, but rather, they are caused by choice. When both parents try for custody of the child, men get it 55% of the time IIRC.

The stat that men get custody rarely is because they rarely try to get it. I'm on mobile so can't provide a source atm.
