on the bottom right, i get that the porn site was being a bunch of assholes claiming she needed to prove she owned the copyright "of her own naked body." but in general, just because someone takes a photo of you, it does not mean you own the copyright. if that was the case every celebrity could sue paparazzi for taking pictures of them.

while it was obvious that the photos were stolen, i still find it funny that the author used such a weak argument just appealing to ignorance of copyright laws and emotion. the author is probably the type of person who screams at anyone filming her in public claiming its illegal to film her without her consent.

Hopefully the lawsuit sets a precedent for these kinds of companies getting punished for such behavior (at least at the monetary level, $115m is a lot of dough)

To be clear, I think in both cases, nobody should be punished by the law for publishing these pictures/videos. They are true things that happened.

I haven't seen the tape, but if people are really that clueless about how actual people have actual sex, maybe we all need to see more of it.

Anyway, if a company is going to be punished, it's appropriate that it is one steeped in hypocrisy and bigotry.
