I am living the "American Dream" and it is as hollow as death. I've worked hard for decades to be able to make good money. I have a wife of 20 years. I have 3 sons. I'm in good shape and health. I have a nice house and cars, nice toys and computers. I'm dead inside. I wake up most mornings wondering how to kill myself in such a way that my family can still get my insurance benefits. When I get on a flight for a business trip, I pray it crashes. I am a slave. For 20 years, I've lived a live I hate so other people can live the lives they love. I'm exhausted. I don't think I can do this anymore. This life is misery.
Nobody wants to hear about this. They just want me to keep producing for them. I would love to have grandchildren but I love my sons and don't want to condemn them to this life. I want to tell them to never commit to any woman, to tell them to go to work for themselves, to travel the world and to never, ever have children. I see post from younger men wishing for this life, yearning for it. I want to tell them to run from this dream. It is an illusion. It is a trap. Status is a spiked pit for dupes. Respectability is how women turn you into slaves. The company of a woman isn't worth this (and can come far cheaper). Children aren't worth this. Run from this life. It is slavery. Run from this, not to it.
