Should someone start a respectable Feminism subreddit?

You might be better off just starting a non-feminist sub for women's rights. Unfortunately /r/womensrights is already taken and run by SRS, but maybe something like /r/WomensActivism or another name.

/r/feminisms (with an s) was created as a feminist alternative to /r/feminism but it's just as bad. There's also /r/egalitarianism, they talk about men's issues more but you can also talk about women's issues there

I haven't seen any anti-women mentality on this subreddit that was even nearly as toxic as the anti-men mentality I've seen on basically any feminist platform. So I don't think you'll get down-voted at all.

Censoring anything they even remotely don't like is the feminist modus operandi though. So you will not get anything that goes against their narrative posted on their subreddit. You could post that article on this subreddit, as it does have an effect on men too.

As for your other question, if you actually wish to engage in a "positive feminist movement", with the actual definition of pro-equality in mind, to focus on issues women face with a more rational mentality in hopes of diverting some women from the toxic environments they encounter when searching for feminism and other key words, then all you can do is create a new subreddit for feminism and hope it will grow in numbers. You simply won't get an option to present your views that don't go hand in hand with the feminist agenda on the already established feminist platforms. Thinking otherwise is a bit delusional, imho.

Edit: though I must say, this article and trying to post it on that subreddit seemed like a bit of a provocation, rather than wanting a new non-toxic and not* censorship heavy women's rights movement platform.

The problem you have for starting a discussion of feminism from a sane perspective on the internet is it will quickly draw a wave of insane feminists to it to either silence it or take it over. We see this in many cases on reddit and I bet a sane discussion sub would very quickly find itself brigaded to death. So I don't think a sub would be possible without instituting a draconian moderation policy and at that point you are starting a whole host of problems and behaving just like SRS.

I don't have a comment about the feminism sub, but I did want to say I really liked reading that article.

I work in a male dominated professional field, only one women on my team of 15. And that woman has a HUGE chip on her shoulder and will figuratively rip to shreads anybody who gets in her path, man or woman. I stay away from her unless absolutely necessary.

How much of that is overcompensation because she's a woman in a male dominated field or is just her personality, I could care less. Regardless, she doesn't get the benefits of collaboration and cooperation of me and other coworkers.

the point of the sub is not to educate anyone. it is pure propaganda intent on brainwashing. that's why any dissent is instantly muted. they know they are wrong. otherwise they would easily defend any detractors. so all they want is to spread their lies.

how do you know you're at least on the side that's not full of shit? that side allows debates. i have never seen an mra sub that instantly ban or mute anyone. almost all subs related to feminism does this. they have people who's JOB it is to do it. they're not volunteers. they ban you within 5 minutes of posting. i've been banned from like 6 of those subs.

one must question, who it is that's paying these people to spread these messages? they're certainly not ordinary redditors who are just hangin out and talking about shit. they're professional propagandists.

radical feminism itself has done so incredibly far and acquired so much power. i'm really afraid of where they can go now. women are given special treatment, reserved spots and extra funding in just about every facet of society now. fucking special groups for competitions, extra funding for all sorts of studies, spots on government jobs, spots on leadership positions and on and on. it's fucking crazy.

How about an gender equality sub? Where you can show both male and female inequality posts. Ideally this would shoved out the men/woman haters and leave those open to any issues.

Many of the key elements of the feminist narrative are not true or they are true only in some very strange and often immoral context (like when they say, for example, that false accusations aren't a big problems because all men contribute to the culture that encourages men to rape women). That's why every feminist discussion needs to be censored by feminists so that facts - and ethics - don't get through.

This isn't by any means only a feminist problem. Neonazis, for example, can't have an open discussions either. I suppose that any large movement that is based on aggressive propaganda against a large group of people suffers from the same problem.

Fuck no. Feminism is about women's issues and their perspective on them. Wrong or right, it should stay a female-centric sub with female moderators who decide how it works.

Would YOU be okay if, say, half the MRA mod team were also women who had a say in how the MRM should work and what could or couldn't be said on the sub?

/r/FeMRAdebates is the only sub where you can have an actual discussion with actual feminists. The moderation on FEMRADebates is a bit more restrictive than it is on /r/Mensrights, but the quality of the discussion there is much higher as a result. That sub actively promotes critical thinking, instead of this sub which is mostly an echo chamber (Note: /r/MR is an echo chamber that I agree with, yes, but it is still an echo chamber).
