First off, the language in the study seems incredibly biased. The researchers were clearly out to prove a single point. They were looking for a specific outcome.

Next, no actual data is every provided. They claim to use the Sexual Experiences Survey to gather their data, but they do not show the results from this survey anywhere. They define rape as this:

For example, vaginal rape disclosure was elicited as follows: “I put my penis or I put my fingers or objects into a woman’s vagina without her consent by: taking advantage when she was too drunk or out of it to stop what was happening, threatening to physically harm her or someone close to her, and/or using force, for example holding her down with my body weight, pinning her arms, or having a weapon.” Each of the 3 tactics was assessed using a separate item.

They then claim that 177 out of 1645 participants indicated that they had engaged in those behaviors. Again, without showing any responses to any other part of the SES.

Finally, they reveal that this study was politically motivated in both the conclusion and the abstract (under "Importance")

This kind of science bothers me. They don't report the full data set. They are clear that they intended to find a specific result. They are clearly politically motivated. They refused to give women similar questions.

People have fabricated studies before. I'm not sure if that's the case here, but it smells awfully fishy. Additionally, it just seems weird that 10% of men would straight up admit to raping a woman, even if they had actually done it. Reasonably (if we assumed this was a legit study) we should expect the actual number to be even higher than 10% since not every rapist would reveal that information.

Any thoughts on this study? I don't wish to behave as feminists do and simply ignore data that runs contrary to my position. But at the same time this seems to be a difficult set of data to disprove.

I just realized. This definition is clearly forceful rape. But apparently non-forceful rape is a thing, and women can be raped without ever realizing it. So this makes those numbers even more suspect...
