Regardless of whether games contain rape scenes (I've never seen one)... what is the point of all of the complaints? So what if there IS rape or violence against women? Are games not allowed to include certain actions or use certain situations to tell their story?

Would they also ban The Color Purple, a great movie about strong women, because it has a rape scene? Should The Sopranos have been forced to re-write their scripts so that Tony never cheats on his wife, and no scenes take place in a strip club?

Clearly these complainers like Anita don't hold the same standards for books or movies or TV... but somehow if it's a video game, suddenly it's a horrible outrage if one character is a prostitute. Why does it matter so much to them when it's a video game, but not for everything else?

I can venture a guess - because unlike books or movies, the audience is mostly male.

Well Far Cry 3 has a rape scene, but it's female on male so I doubt they'd bring that up.

When sex in video games is considered to be a million times more taboo and offensive/repulsive than going around shooting everything that moves(or at least going around shooting every man that moves), you kind of know that the industry's moral/ethical standards aren't really you should take seriously. Either way, people who freak-out at rape scenes in video games but are apparently okay with rape scenes in movies/music, are really hypocritical and biased against the medium itself(nerdy men like video games, therefore it must be bad!).

Jokes aside, I doubt anybody will listen. It's really sad, but the general non-gaming public who consumes a lot of TV media will see this, absorb it, and not see any gamer's reaction to this. I can only think of games that depict rape is going to happen, but then the rapist is killed. And it's never a situation that is built around the mindset, "Yeaaaaaaah let's rape! RAPE IS AWESOME".

It's always, "OMG THIS IS AWFUL".

god of war 1 has a sex scene where kratos jumps on the bed and you pretty have your way quite "forcefully" but from what I recall they enjoyed they where screaming when you gave it to them, also they where waiting for them, that's as close as I can get.

Far Cry 4 depicts women and men forced into prostitution (rape), but the point of that is to display how fucked up and traumatizing it is. Once you save the women (and men), they break down into ptsd induced sobbing, or 1000 yard stares.
