My ex-wife and I largely act like we did when we were married. We talk on the phone every day about our daughters, video games, movies, etc. We normally linger and get ice cream or candy when we meet to trade custody for visits.

She has certain barriers she’s erected though that are odd (to me) and seem artificial.

I cannot enter her house. She will greet me at the door and let me see inside or bring her cat to visit me, but I cannot enter. If I need to go to the bathroom, I have to drive to a nearby store.

I cannot go to church with her when we meet on Sunday. The timing and everything would make this really convenient for her, but she doesn’t want to sit near me for an hour I suppose.

I cannot eat a proper meal with the girls AND her.

Well I’ve asked about the upcoming school open house I read about because I’ve never seen their school before and it’d be nice for me to see it and have an image of it. She immediately shot that down.

So I have a question, then. Normally I don’t question these blocks: I just let her know I’ll respect them and not feel like I’m entitled to an explanation. Is there a line I should draw? Is this a fight worth fighting? Is it even fair for me to argue at all? Is she well within her rights as the sole parent?
