My friend is a lot older and stays off of the internet so I’m asking for them.

To keep it short and sweet, he is getting a divorce and his wife is accusing him of cheating with one of his coworkers. She has now sent him a “Request for Production”, asking him to give up all correspondence (text message, social media) etc between him and his female coworker.

He says he’s very uncomfortable dragging his coworker into this and they both confide in one another (the coworker got a recent divorce) about their divorces. He doesn’t feel his soon to be ex wife should be allowed to see their texts.

Now I know lawyers request stuff all the time, but does he really have to give up those text messages and if he doesn’t, will the court try and subpoena those text messages?
