I have met a few good women since my divorce but one thing I realized is that at the end of the day, they are mostly all the same. So, I went for the snip-snip and I will NOT get caught in the marriage trap again.

I can identify with this quandry. There are zero poitive benefits of marriage or even long term relationships for me. I am not built for it. All relationships start out great, but after those 'in love' chemicals wear off, things change. I am not mad or bitter at women, but I understand their nature (not all act on it). Women are sexual objects to men and men are success objects to women. My freedom means too much to me. .

you get to pick which route you go and no one can tell you otherwise. there’s no rush. take your time, keep your eyes open and do what you feel like doing.

I'm thinking that we can't be bitter and damaged and judging women for being bitter and damaged too. :)

Edit: none of us are 18 now and I don't think anyone believes that love conquers all problems any more.( Oh poop. I bet the phrase is supposed to mean "love conquers all people")

I hate to confirm but it is the same old song & dance. We live in a very selfish and entitled society.

Most romances will not last through several seasons of “Friends” or the “Sopranos!” Ghosting and breaking up thru text messages nowadays; it’s a joke. No balls!

Women want to date/marry rich men, and men want to date hot women with big tits & ass. It gets even trickier: modern chicks want to post nude Instagrams but expect men to respect them & their bodies. (#metoo / #equality)

It’s pure bullshit if you ask me because there’s no 2nd date if you split the check!

I’m rather happy to avoid the confusion by avoiding confused women. We’re being “Gaslighted” and taking it in the ass without even realizing it…

Been there done that bro. We're all on rollercoaster rides here. However, my advice would be to work out every. single. day. This will limit the high high's and the low low's. The key is consistency. No one can make you happy unless you first make yourself happy.

Dating apps have ruined…dating. These women are trash-what can do for them, what can you offer them? It’s become transactional.

I learned it’s a numbers game. Go on as many dates as you can, and talk to women in stores, on the street. Join a group through meetup, and hope there’s a good looking woman in there.

Good luck, but I agree with the vasectomy comment. Best thing I’ve done and keeps you from getting trapped with trash.

I’m a gay man and have been dating men for months since my divorce. Let me tell you, they are all just as mentally fucked up as the women I read about in this sub. They are good for casual sex, but I never want to be intimate with another person’s neurosis ever again, male or female.

I have days where I just think it's fucking pointless. I'm probably better off just focusing on myself. Doing shit that I like, fucking some whores (at least that's a transparent transaction) and just forgetting about all the romance bullshit.<

While I don’t agree with much of the language in this thread, I will say one thing: it is damn near impossible to find a partner who will stick around when you hit rock-bottom nowadays. Especially when they aren’t in your situation. The “for worse” part of the vows mean jack shit nowadays, even though the tough times are usually just temporary.
