Unless they put the purple kale right next to the flowers this “mistake” was intentional. Maybe he thought he could pass off as this stupid, they were right next to the flowers and they were the cheapest, or he got it as some new tip cheap men are coming up with to nickel and dime girlfriends.

Don't date an idiot, ladies. Clearly he's an idiot. He had to have bought this out of the produce section not the area with flowers. That was his first clue. The price was his second clue. Also just some $2 flowers for an anniversary? At the very least there should be dinner, flowers and champagne. He should shower you with affection and appreciation for having sex with him. Minimum.

Where I live, in flower shops, they do have big pots of decorative kale. But they come with a little sign that it is indeed decorative kale and not flowers.
