These are my concerns: 1. Safety where are yall walking too? Seems dodgy to me 2. Low effort- he's not spending any money. Not really making any effort to make the date interesting. I dont like it. 3. Awkward- walking around with a stranger? Sounds like it could end up being the as-yet-undiscovered 10th circle of hell. Harder to put a time limit on the date. No structure to it. Just a mess. 4. His use of the word "Sometime"- this bothers me the most. He invites you out on a walk of all things and he can't even commit to a time and date?

I used to do these in my pick me days, ladies these “walking dates” are always super awkward. never do them lol (not that I need to convince you). most men are awful conversationalists, so when an actual activity is removed from the equation, all you’re stuck with is their mediocre personality.

Go for a walk sometime isn’t an invitation. It’s a placeholder. It’s a way to keep the texting going. It’s just like telling someone you have no intention of seeing again, “let’s do lunch sometime, I’ll call you” and then never calling because someday in the future you might be able to use the person for something.

My personal stance on walks is rn I’m not meeting anyone anywhere that I cannot social distance. Especially since my government’s response to Covid is just like what they have done for every mass shooting and natural or man made disaster: nothing effective.

So since it’s obviously up to me to protect myself and not become a virus crash test dummy and play the odds to date some low effort random stranger I would not be going on walks with them to see if they are suitable.

Public meetings that stay in one location for no more than an hour or so would be okay if the man met my standards. But I certainly would not be meeting anyone just to date. I like myself and don’t want covid. Idgaf what anyone says about the virus- not getting sick from dating is my basic standard.

I don’t want their cold, std, flu or fungus. Please keep your creepy crawlers to yourself- no lice or bugs!

I don’t see why this isn’t a basic, common sense standard for all women dating anyone!

Don’t risk your health especially for someone that doesn’t even begin to meet your basic standards!

Eh, idk. If that's not up to your standards as to how you would like to have a first date/first meet, tell him you're accustomed to something else. Or tell him you're not interested in a walk if that's not what you want.*** Keep your safety in mind***. A walk can be dangerous for a woman, especially if it's on a trail/secluded. Better to meet in a very public place

I am no longer on OLD and probably never will be. I understand that walking was a thing during Covid because there were few options for dating. You can tell him, you would like to dine in one of the outdoor seated restaurants if you can find one, you can suggest it, and you are free Thursday evening an Tuesday evening and leave it at that.

Tell him “No” or you can just block him if you want. A walk is so low effort and he isn’t even paying anything so there is no real effort on his side to prove he really values your time. Not only that a walk doesn’t even sound that fun especially since you have to find a way to socially distance yourself due to Covid-19. Don’t but yourself at risk of a disease for a guy you just met. Or any guy for that matter. This also applies for any STIs/STDs or any other viral/bacterial infections. You and your health are worth so much more.

I personally like walks. But you’ve never met in person yet. He’s either inexperienced/naive, cheap, or up to no good.

A date at an outdoor restaurant would be a better alternative. Maybe say “That sounds fun, but we should have dinner first before we start making plans to be walking buddies.” The other responses on here are pretty solid too.
