I think this rule is ridiculous and it’s not a part of FDS. Having standards is fine, but no sex till 10k is problematic for a thousand reasons. If it works for you, fine. Do your thing. But I think it’s foolish to say we should adopt that as a rule of thumb.

Yikes, 10k!? That’s a couple months wages in my corner of the world; completely unreasonable to expect someone to pay that much in a relatively short amount of time.

The point of the “wait until x” rule is to weed out people who lie about wanting commitment just to get in your pants. What exactly you wait for depends; usually it’s time, because we all have a finite amount of that and people who would rather sleep around don’t want to wait that long. Money, if your date has an abundance of it, really wouldn’t be a good obstacle. I’d say ignore that bit of advice and go with what works better for your situation.

this is absolutely dumbfounding. i know women are definitely worth the money, but purposely withholding sex until a man spends 10k on you? what if he has a low paying job? what if he truly cant afford it? he could be the most respectful wonderful man in the world and you want to sleep with him and express your connection physically, but you dont because some stupid internet rule said he has to spend thousands on you. thats insane. sex is important to so many and this information is garbage. have sex with whoever you want. dont have sex with whoever you want. if women want men to value them, BE VALUABLE. dont demand money in exchange for sex.

I'm that bitch. 🙋 Well at least one of them. There was another user who had heard about the 10k strategy but I don't know anyone else who is currently applying it.

I'm seeking a high earning HVM so to me it's very reasonable that such a man would be able to spend 10k on me. There's dinners out, gifts, flowers, bills, travel trips, shopping, etc etc etc. The sort of courtship that only a high earning HVM can give you racks up $$$$. To top it off the ring and surprise engagement.

Does it shrink my dating pool? Of course but it's the only type of guy that I am willing to date at this point in my life. If I meet a HVM who can't step into that role then he will need to decide that he's going to chase me by leveling up and persuing me as he is able or give me up. I will not build him or lower my standards.

I am more than comfortable living completely without a man for the rest of my life so I don't mind the wait inbetween fnding a HVM who fits the bill.
