I was just thinking today that the worst kind of pick mes are the kind who try and act like bosses with it. Who try and make their lame failures into wins

I know one or two like this and this is how it plays out:

They’re dating complete lames who have them being the breadwinners and doing everything within the house

But they frame it using strong empowered language like they’re somehow winning or being a boss by managing these self chosen hardships so well, if YKWIM.

They talk about it arms crossed, reared back super proud of themselves. Thinking it’s a win when really it’s something they shouldn’t be doing at all.

The superior language and tone they use to frame what are actually failures make them seem soooo in control of their life and like they have everyone else in line and don’t take shit. But the reality is their whole life is built around serving or taking shit from a man.

But they make it a triumph how they’re managing the kids and cooking for him, and holding down two jobs

And like you should look up to how well they’re doing it, with no sweat on their brow.

Like it makes them strong and powerful instead of just someones fucking mule

I’m reminded of gymnasts who take terrible spills and then scramble up and present their outstretched arms in each direction to the crowd, after having fallen right on their ass

They’re actually the worst kind of pick mes because they make servitude and taking Ls a sign of a strong and mature woman- grown women shit that you should or need to be growing into knowing how to handle yourself. Like I can handle this shit so well cause i’m mature. Less “strong” women wouldn’t be able to handle his cheating 10 times with such discretion and class

When really smart thing is to avoid it altogether
