Literally. I’m so sick of these men who are usually Niceguys™️ who think that every woman showing them common courtesy wants to fuck them. My guy acquaintance from teenhood said something like, the woman he was with last night was his white Buffalo. I'm like. What. So you dumped your emotional load on her, slept with her, and your not even trying to call her your gf.
I know her and I feel bad. My guy friend (was my brother in law, now I never see him because,, well ex husband etc.) has always been an ass about women. White Buffalo sounds like another term for emotional dumpster. I hope she will be okay.

Oh, me too. I will absolutely go "too far" every single fucking time I hear it because it's happened so often and I can't take it anymore. Just before the plague started, I was actually sent to HR about it. (Keep in mind that this boomer scrote had also come up to me several times to tell me to stop eating... because "he hates when women with bodies like mine get fat" and once literally pushed me away from my own desk to close the tabs I was working on because he "doesn't like too many tabs open".
" Frank came to us today and said you were openly hostile to him because he complimented you"
"Frank lies. Frank came up and said " * Tatter * , you're such a beautiful woman. But you'd be a lot more beautiful if you smiled more"
"I then told him that 'I'm here to work, Frank, not decorate your world. If you want to see a smile, head to the mirror in the washroom'. "
HR decided that I needed to take into account that he's from a different generation and doesn't know any better and apologize. I said that if he can learn a programming language at the age of 65 then he can learn not to be a fucking creep. When they insisted, I asked them to put "Apologizing to sexual harasser is a condition of continued employment" in writing first.
I asked them again for a copy of it through my work email as soon as I got back to my desk. "As per our conversation today, I was wondering when I can expect to receive the new conditions of my employment in writing"
They would not. They were certainly apologetic to him when they told him to stay away from me though. "I'm sorry Frank, but you know how she is...."

I live in a small city where women constantly have to walk the tightrope or you'll fuck yourself out of a job completely. Bringing a suit against an employer will blacklist you from everything.
I managed to find a new, better WFH job and told them to go pound sand instead. I also contacted the CEO (who took a liking to my "confidence" when he came here to set up our location) and neither the head manager or HR manager work there anymore :D

We're still behind the times somewhat in our province (due to the old average age) when it comes to sexual harassment. The old pervs like to take advantage of the economic realities around here to really push. There were so many daily instances of sexual harassment that they started hinting that I was more trouble than I was worth. So the women there basically kept their heads down and just moved from that shitty job to one slightly less shitty just to stay employed.

The sexual harassment started early in my case (way too early) and got so overwhelming that I started to fight back instead of keeping the peace. It's a natural result of having those "opportunities" shoved in my face for way too long, and having super misogynistic parents that piled on instead of being supportive. When it comes to being hit on, I've always been on my own. I guess it sprang from trauma, but worked itself out in the long run.
Being a "bitch" is the easiest, fastest way to get them away from you. That sort of confidence will come in time. Keep thinking of those "should have" comments, and next thing you know they'll just roll off your tongue without even having to think about it :)

My mom’s a hairstylist. She’s met a lot of cool people over the years but she absolutely hates (and dreads) the men who mistake her politeness as flirting. A few times my mom had put her foot down and say she’s not interested, she’s just being cordial and those clients stopped showing up to her shop.

Oh, and while you walk on this tight rope-- some men will mansplain how to walk the tight rope (a rope they've never walked on), others will tell you the tight rope you are walking on doesn't really exist, others will laugh at you while you walk on it.
Meanwhile, nearly all men think it's totally fine/not that bad for women to live in a world where they have to walk on tight ropes, and with no safety nets underneath either. They dig their heads in the sand, because it's easier than looking up and seeing half of humanity being made to dance like monkeys, to walk on tight ropes like they are in a circus. Yeah, they 100% do this to derail/distract from conversations concerning male-on-female violence and/or female rape victims. Like they give a fuck about male victims of rape? Also, who do they think is raping the vast vast majority of male rape victims? Other men. So even when they try to derail/distract, they still can't get away from male violence-- they just think they can shut you up by pointing out male-on-male violence. Why aren't women raping, murdering and assaulting each other in the numbers/scale that men do? Perhaps recognizing male violence being the core problem, that males inflict violence on women, children AND other men-- would be the first step towards solving the problem. But they aren't interested in solving problems caused by male violence, they just want women to shut the fuck up about rape.

I honestly think this is by design. Most guys probably know social cues to differentiate when a woman is interested in them and when she is just being friendly, but pretend not to be able to tell the difference. This way, they can feel justified in getting angry at women who 'lead them on' when truly the only crime she committed was rejecting them. It's learned social obliviousness.

Men get furious when women give them fake numbers or ghost them or in any other way let them down "easy".
If they get that enraged over being gently rebuffed, imagine how dangerous they'd be if you were honest and told them to fuck off, or even, god forbid, insulted them.

I’ve found it a lot easier to get away with this as I’ve visibly aged out of my 20s. Just staring back with a school-Marm poker face gets me a tiny bit of respect and guys just move on. In my 20s, it got me a stalker and also fired another time - “you’re making people uncomfortable. We’re not going to be abrasive.” And that was a back office data entry job, so it’s not like I was a salesperson or anything.

Dear Lord, when I'm at work at my retail job I can't even make eye contact with most males, because to them, that's their invitation to come and take up my time. I'm on the clock, I'm literally required to be nice. Sad part is that it's usually very old men who are desperate. One even started bringing me gifts, which made it become glaringly obvious that he wasn't even shopping, he was just coming in to see me.
