Simp has come to mean a guy that bends over backwards specifically for a woman that isn't interested in him.. so by that terminology, I wouldn't recommend dating anyone that isn't highly attractive to you. But some red pillers call any man who respects women or does nice things for his partner a simp.

"simp" = HVM. The term "simp" was definitely made up by a misogynist who's unable to treat a woman the way these "simps" do e.g. unable to buy a woman gifts because of their bummyness and cheapness. Unable to compliment a woman incase they "accidentally give her too much confidence" (they're too insecure to deal with a confident, outspoken woman).

I dated a man who would ridicule other men who spend money on their gfs. I was the sucker that stayed...all I ever got was a large man that'll burp in my ear all day long like an animal. Date a simp to avoid this.

To throw in my 2 cents - i thought a simp was a male who would “do anything” or “get whipped” by a woman. There are pros and cons to this as I used to date a simp. They’re nice but they do get heavily devoted to you to the point where its weird and uncomfortable. Simp however (for some reason too) sometimes extends to how the man looks and their attractiveness isnt ideal. But I don’t know man... as someone in the asexual spectrum, it all depends on how the man treats you. If there is balance or is just over-protective to the point of being uncomfortable.
