Men who are supposedly looking for a relationship but also have plans to move to another part of the country in the next 1-2 years. They all want a "wife and a family" but zero foundation to achieve that, and they're still out chasing their Peter Pan fantasies at 30+. To be clear, having dreams is FINE but what aggravates me is the assumption that they can start dating and a new girlfriend is going to have to deal with all of it. We preach this all the time on this sub - don't date while your life is in major flux.

They have absolutely no mention in their plans of how they're going to deal with a new relationship and this huge life change. They think they can start dating someone and just up and move, and the woman will of course up and move to support his dreams. OR he's the "I want kids someday" type and thinks a woman will just fall out of the sky when he's ready at 38.

I'm so tired of the default assumption that women will support a man's dreams no matter what.

Here are the types I've encountered:

  • The guy who's going to start a sustainable farm in Maine in the next 2 years. He has already bought the land. (I have met MULTIPLE of these. Idk how men have this fantasy that they're going to run a farm when they can't even pay for a date).

  • The startup bro who is still living in his parents basement, is tens of thousands in debt, but is still paranoid about gold diggers. He's not planning on moving, but he thinks he will find a woman who is fine with his entire lack of ability to support a family.

  • The guy who is job hunting in a different state, but is still looking for a wife on Hinge

Is this just me?
