As much as I love the idea of rapists hobbling screaming into emergency rooms with spike filled condoms on their dicks, I can see the problems with it. Unless it immediately and completely incapacitates the man, it puts the victim in greater danger-- now he's even more enraged, and she's even more likely to be severely injured or killed.

An ex of mine argued with me that it was wrong to carry one of those eye gouging keychains with me in case of rape because it was wrong to permanently blind someone.

No amount of logical explanation got through to him. It was legitimately disturbing. Like I'm not going to accidentally use it on an innocent man. There is literally no other reason I'd be attacked besides something that is threatening to my life and safety.

This device can only be removed by a doctor. The point is not necessarily detour rape by pain but to be able to catch the actual rapists. Then if rapists get caught and prosecuted they would be less likely to do it. It’s also not designed for the average women living in a developed country. More for places where rape is used a war crime etc
