Did you know that one of the Tiger King’s showrunners is the egoistic billionaire Eric Goode who sees himself like a hero? The stuff he criticizes Carole over, and what he wants NVMs to slurp up, he’s guilty of himself…and WORSE. He breeds turtles/tortoises, turtles that shouldn’t be kept in captivity, and sells them to private owners for a profit or uses them in vanity projects. Yes, he’s a massive hypocrite that thinks Carole should kill all the tigers rather than keep them in captivity despite having bred 10000s of animals into cages. For some reason he managed to frame Carole as a massive hypocrite for...literally what he himself does, but worse. Is the issue that he is an obvious douche, and she tries to act nice? He goes around manipulating people, lying, and...that's ok?

Eric alongside the other showrunners made a concentrated effort to defame and keep out endless information that would have vindicated Carole’s character…and in the process, he ended up deliberately undermining a nonprofit cause that is in steep contrast to his for profit cause.

NOTE: Eric parallels Joe's desire to breed tigers into captivity. Just please think about this for a while and then look at how heroically Joe is portrayed, alongside Joe obviously knowing how to play and manipulate people better than Carole, who comes off as more awkward. Joe martyrs himself as a poor underdog, and Carole, the rich, educated pompous bitch.

You only have to look at the show’s treatment of Exotic to see the high level of sympathy it can bring to even the most extreme scuzzbuckets but that it cannot muster for a woman whom this scuzzbucket threatened to kill multiple times.... The person most desperate for our attention often comes across more sympathetically than someone more well adjusted, by which I mean camera-shy. Putting oneself on display can reveal, along with everything else, one’s humanity.

Eric really went around and lied to magazines how he just wanted to bring “attention” to a horrible “business.” Even if you think Carole is disingenuous, Carole explicitly tries to actually spread awareness and information on the subject rather than resort to lies like this. So much misinformation, some toxic, was spread in Tiger King, already noted and debunked by experts.

Tea time: Carole Baskins backed a bill that entails banning the private ownership of big cats. I.e., in homes. Various precincts that have dealt with home owners having big cats illegally have backed it.

Compare and contrast this to Eric having no qualms shooting out exotic animals into questionable ownership. Her bill easily threatens the idea of exotic animal ownership as a whole; in the past we’ve seen bills like this pick up interest and expand. Easily this could in the future spark to sink Eric's faux heroic business. Which, well, adds a really insidious bent to the entire mockumentary, because it basically could sink the trafficking of animals not fit for ownership.

Now, to expand on specifics from a great article I found.

This biased and personally judgmental opinion of one of the subjects of Goode’s supposedly ‘objective’ ‘documentary’ flies in the face of his co-director, Chaiklin’s description of Baskin, as someone who is “raising awareness around this (captive big cat) issue… She’s impressively intelligent and she’s helping in terms of the messaging that this is not a good practice and it’s cruel to the animals.”

It bears pointing out, that despite clearly believing Baskin to be an intelligent, capable and important “good guy” in the fight against the exploitation and abuse of captive big cats, Chaiklin had no qualms at all about producing a show that not only failed to portray this positive information, but actively promoted the opposite portrayal of Baskin, as well as focusing on hearsay and rumor unrelated to Baskin’s efforts in big cat conservation, but specifically intended to damage her reputation as both an expert, and as a person in general.

Now, let’s get at Goode. Whew.

In this Rolling Stone interview, Goode stated “What fascinated Rebecca and I was the “Best In Show aspect, where the people are almost more interesting that the exotic animals they’re keeping.”

In this interview, both co-directors, Rebecca Chaiklin, and Goode, come across as positively giddy over how “easy” it was to get characters like Joe Exotic, and his nemesis Carole Baskin to “play their part” in the planned docuseries.

This is completely opposite to Goode’s claims in Vanity Fair that he intended to either educate the public about conserving wild tigers, or explore the ‘animal world’ in regard to tigers in captivity.

Hello, hypocrisy and sensationalism.

Eric Goode: “Carole keeps them in cages for the duration of their lives, and I’m not sure that’s the right thing to do.”

Goode sees no hypocrisy in the fact that he portrays himself as a conservationist who founded and runs an organization which maintains hundreds of turtles and tortoises in captivity, breeding hundreds more into captivity each year, while suggesting that if Baskin doesn’t really believe that tigers should be kept in captivity, she should humanly euthanize all the big cats that her GFAS accredited sanctuary has saved from abuse and exploitation.

Goode has even supported the use of live tortoises in art installations, arguing that activities like gluing iPads to the back of tortoises helps to raise awareness about them.

Goode, and others, attribute their captive breeding programs, comprised of captive animals, kept in cages and enclosures for the duration of their very, very long lives, as having saved multiple species from the brink of extinction.

HHEM. Now as for the anti private ownership bill Carole backs...I've seen NVMs go:

“Wow, she’s so evil, she has a bill that threatens all other businesses like hers!!” alongside the psychos going on and on “I hate how she pretends to be better than she is!! It’s the worst!”

This trend with NVMs obsessively writing evil intent into literally everything she does is…well, I feel like it really does embody misogyny, and how misogyny can casually manifest in almost all men; the obsession with feminine hypocrisy. And, it goes to show how they will look at a truly evil man, and go

"WOW, this a Good Businessman! Look at that woman with a fraction of his net value questioning his righteous, holy business! She is such a villain!"

I've seen so many men be obsessed with even the littlest bit of disingenuous in women...while ignoring actual things that actually destroy people's lives. AKA, the fucked up shit other men do.

It's a transparent proof of men's unbrindled simping for other men and lack of morality.

You don’t become a millionaire business man who successfully flips hotels in places like New York City, by forcing out poverty-stricken tenants, and shafting your own partners, while becoming a ‘hero’ in the public eye as a ‘man for the people’ because you’re suing other millionaires (Donald Trump) for ‘ethics violations’ without knowing how to spin a lie.

The public reaction to Tiger King continues to mount, but the reality is, people like Joe Exotic, Doc Antle, and Jeff Lowe, have been presented to the public for decades. The public just ignored them. These characters have been front and center in all those conservation or animal welfare articles that the mainstream public has hidden from their timeline feeds, or skimmed over only to click on a celebrity headline in the sidebar. The public didn’t want to read about characters like Exotic, or Antle in terms of abusing captive wild animals. And Eric Goode knew that. Just as Goode knew a hotel with micro-rooms themed like the Titanic would sell like hotcakes, once he forcefully evicted the long-time poor residents, Goode also knew that if he presented these animal exploiters and abusers as larger than life characters, and made their personalities the focus of the media, the public would be rapt, and embrace them.

Tiger King is a farce not only because it fails to address the plight of captive big cats, but because…Eric Goode knew right from the off, which of his carefully portrayed caricatures would be loved by the public, which would be perceived as a weirdo, or a mastermind, and who would be hated with a vengeance. Goode understood how the public would champion certain characters, and how they would embrace the destruction of others.

Yet, NVMs everywhere don’t appear to even…see him, or this deception, this hypocrisy and deception whatsoever. Despite being completely obsessed with the myth of Carole murdering her husband and digging and digging for any snippet…playing 3D chess and analyzing her every body language in the documentary (as if she wasn’t tricked constantly)…NVMs didn’t even care to look into the toxic context of Tiger King. They have the means. The power. The energy. They just obsessed over Carole. Threatened her life. All that type of shit.

You can guarantee Carole got more death threats than Eric ever has.

And, you will have noticed this: I didn't go much into detail about the fucked up men in the documentary. Men that have been infamous in years and animal abusers or drug runners or sex cult leaders. They don't get 1 percent the hatred Carole does. This in itself can literally be its own post with how deep this goes, including the evil shit Carole's deceased husband did (if the genders were bent here, you would 100 percent guarantee men would instead see Carole/Carl like a hero...not that I buy into her killing her husband).

I think this is maybe the crux of misogyny. Men, essentially, hating women for vaguely being annoying and disingenuous, over truly fucked up men that do far more damage in the world and to other people or, well animals. Men, hating women that come off as a smidge more innocuous than they actually are. Is Carole hated more than anything because underneath the UWUing, she's smart and competent? It's just she can't pull it off anymore?

They will take their hatred of women, *usually* imagined, projected, or periphery wrongs…over evil men doing massive amounts of damage to men AND women, AND the world.

Is Carole a bad person? I don't care that much bc of this:

She really works her ass off for those tigers, she really is putting good things into the world (I.e., the bill). She's been infinitely MORE consistent with her cause than the others. Her attitude being "weird" doesn't erase this, contrary to men's bizarre mindset of a one dimensional witch.

I'm done with men like Eric Goode getting away with their projection and witch hunts. He plays puppet with people's lives for fun and profit and status. And, most men in the world don't give a shit; they just want to lynchmob women like Carole. Eric, a man using turtles like set pieces and vanity projects and then posturing himself a hero. For some reason...this is the man men want to trust. Then think about Doc, Joe...other men that men would love, while condemning Carole. This this goddamned cursed, manipulative, wrong show has even a meta of corruption that millions of men around the world choose to ignore in favor of hating an earnest, awkward, cunning woman...ignoring objective, concrete wrongs for favor of chasing ghosts...

It's insanity, truly.
