Any man posting this is the type to roll his eyes and tell his wife she’s dRaMaTiC when she’s burned out and asking for help.

My late husband never posted memes about us (except the one about wives and where did this new dog come from, which…guilty as charged lol) He showed me everyday that I was appreciated. He cleaned. He cooked. He left the house when I had midterms so that I’d have a quiet place to study. That’s how you show appreciation, not with a meme that’s really a veil for dependence, inadequacy, and toxic masculinity.

Some men think that women don't like emotional or weak men. They say we don't like men who show emotions, cry, get sad, or have bad days.

That's not it at all.

What we don't like -and shouldn't put up with- is men who use us as their own source of emotional support. Too many men refuse to seek help and expect their partner to just burden the load, even if they're not prepared to. My ex needed help from his friends, family, and professionals, except he made zero effort to get support from anyone but me. It was unsustainable. The most laughable part was that I was getting more help from others for dealing with his problems than he was!

No concern for the toll on the woman in question, of course. My ex was thanking me profusely for helping him with his (partially self-induced) problems. When it was his turn to provide a modicum of emotional support, he failed miserably and tried to gaslight me that I deserved the bad situation I was in, and I should not have hope of improving it)

Needless to say, the situation improved when I was no longer with him and his sabotaging presence.
