I hang out with my sis whenever I can, but she doesn’t show up with flowers, lol! She worked in a flower boutique, though, so I’m sure she has a whole other perspective on flowers.

I don’t know. If a male friend learned that I got dumped and offered to hang out with me, I would be kind of offended if he showed up with a bouquet of roses. It would make me think he’s being opportunistic and trying to hook up with me while I’m on the rebound. That’s why I wouldn’t want to see the same gesture from my brother. It would feel like I was being groomed for incest.

But then again, I’ve had to call CPS for my patients plenty times over outcries of sexual abuse. Often, the suspected abuser will be a father or brother that dotes on them and lavishes them with gifts, essentially treating them like a girlfriend. I am also a victim of CSA (from a much older male relative) so I’m ultra sensitive to some of the more insidious signs of abuse, which includes borderline romantic behavior seen in that video.

That’s just my two cents. Take it for what it’s worth, I guess. 😐
