Interestingly enough, when I was on OLD I started filtering by "wants kids" and my OLD experience drastically improved. While I don't necessarily want kids myself, I found that compared to the other groups (don't want kids, have kids and do/don't want more) the men in this group were at least genuinely looking for a commitment/relationship more often than the others. It definitely weeded out a lot of the childfree perma-bachelors and divorced single dads trying to be fuckboys for the first time.

To be honest, I had better luck filtering by kids rather than filtering by relationship/marriage because the men who put seeking relationship were seeking casual relationships and claiming that it's a form of relationship so it counts, and the men who put seeking marriage were almost always conservatives and that's a hard no for me.

I know men on bumble who say looking for a relationship when I KNOW they’re strictly looking to hook up. Take it with a grain of salt. But do still swipe left on ‘casual’ and ‘not sure’ because those fucks probably won’t even go down on women.

Looking for hookups or ok with non monogamy were instant left swipes for me. That meant I got very little matches and I was fine with it.

Imagine if the time, thought, energy and emotional energy you put into OLD, you put into being your best self, hobbies, old friends, nature, sports, education, causes. Imagine how many virtual and irl connections you could make with both genders, with people who are active with whom you share beliefs and goals, how much you could expand your social circle with interesting, quality HVP without lowering yourself to an explicitly pick me vibe. Imagine how much happier and less drained you would be without worrying about and hanging on strangers’ every word. Imagine living your life without the anxiety of swimming in a pond with creeps on the daily. It’s great.

Well, for me it is actually a negative, not neutral or positive, so not a choice for me. I have met people (friends) with a few new hobbies I’ve taken up (music, chess, soccer and biking lol) and a volunteer group I’m in. Happy (unstressed by OLD), good people attract same. GL
