Her advice sounds rational, until you think about how irrational humans beings are. You have to make decisions based off how things actually are in reality, not how you want them to be in your perfect world. In this world, not every man has pure intentions. In fact, most don't, so you can't go on about your life like they do.

Also, you're not supposed to "pretend to be busy", you're supposed to actually have a full life that so that when he does call, you really can't answer right away.

This advice is so dangerous and naive, especially from a woman who should be blessed with the wisdom of being older. She is assuming that men are playing fair from the get go and unless you are WAY out of a man's "league" most will NOT be playing fair or in it solely for "LOVE" unless you already have a established relationship based on respect like a long standing friendship or shared friendship group, college etc and even THEN trust must be earned! This advice is relevant only if in a established relationship when IN mutual "love" and even then you must NEVER let a man get comfortable and think he has you 100% because men are goal and consequence orientated. This is why most men stop romancing their woman once they have established exclusivity etc.
