As a lot of you probably already know the price of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies has skyrocketed this year. Now whether you believe blockchain tech is actually going somewhere or not, you've got to admit that people investing 2 years ago were pretty clever at least if they were shorting the market. In fact if you bought anytime before 6 months ago you probably made a really good profit still.

So if we can agree that long term bitcoin investors were clever in some way. Example: the winklevoss twins. Not that you need to be a millionaire to have been an investor, but their bet on bitcoin turned them from millionaires to billionaires.

Bitcoin is one of the most truly free market assets that has ever been created. Almost anyone with access to a computer with internet could either buy or mine bitcoin at some point over the past 9 years since it's creation. It's hard to imagine that there has ever been an investment with such equal opportunity in history. Where at least 1/3 of the human race could have participated. An investment of just $1000 in 2013 would make you a millionaire at todays price. All for doing nothing, but understanding the technology and taking a bit of a risk.

If you research the people who have the most bitcoin you will find its disproportionately male. If not entirely male dominated. Some estimates say women in bitcoin even today, are 10% or less.

So what's my point?

Well women have had equal access to the internet and the exact same information as all the men have who invested in bitcoin. Here is a situation in which there were 0 barriers for women to participate. In fact, in many cases they could mine or buy bitcoin completely anonymously without any party knowing their gender. This is supposed to be the type of utopia like, equal opportunity, that feminists claim that they want to have for all women and that if women had these opportunities women would earn the same over their lifetime as men do. There is no opportunity that has ever been more equal. And yet it's massively male skewed even today.

There was no patriarchy that prevented women from typing the word "bitcoin" into google so they could discover it themselves. Or getting any information about it.

I think that this is one of the strongest arguments I've ever seen for sexual dimorphism in human psychology. Men are probably more interested in topics like programming and cryptography making them more likely to have discovered bitcoin earlier than the average women. On top of that men also take more risks than women meaning when they discovered bitcoin they were also more likely to invest than a women because of it's high risk.

Men and women (at least on average) think and behave differently. And even with completely equal opportunities, outcomes will always be skewed. We are different. Get over it. Case closed.
