I jumped on the conservative band wagon from late 2022 to early 2025 after having been liberal from when I was born (2001) up until 2022... Let's just say many of the same things I noticed a lot of conservatives doing during my liberal years, I've seen happen on a lot on the liberal side during my conservative years. Both sides of the same coin & a lot of the so-called centrists have proven themselves to be barnaculous & are quick to jump from one side to the other/vice versa 😢

You are correct -any man still looking to an ideology or political group to save them in 2026, is bound to be sorely disappointed. Conservatives are not special in this regard, and indeed they support such a passionless belief system these days. If you don't feel particularly antagonized by "The Left," there's literally nothing of substance there for you other than servitude- whether to the government, the family or the church.

I am myself a conservative and, while I agree with the fact that conservatism is not actually helping men but on the other hand I can't blame them I can't blame men for becoming conservative if the left treated them like shit and the conservativism what it does is to give them what the left didn't which is VALIDATION, and even if traditional gender roles are not beneficial to men they will rather rely on traditional gender roles in exchange for validation of their experiences rather than being treated like the cause of all evils in the world. You know what I mean?

Yeah, but you can say that about both major political parties in the US. It's really not a choice at all.

You can face joblessness due to DEI programs or workplace injuries due to the erosion of safety regulations.

You can be unfairly prosecuted because politicians are trying to protect women or because politicians are tough on crime.

You lose access to your child because "believe all women" or traditional gender roles.

Your choice is an illusion. The only way I see to get out of this is to support Libertarians because they want to reduce the size and power of government.

The’re not arbitrary or conjured up from bad people “just because”.

It is possible to deviate from gender-roles but it may be perilous as the underlying reasons for these gender roles persist.

An analogy: Of course you can claim teeth brushing is an evil plot to poison you with flouride and abstain from brushing at all. I mean animals, they never brush, do they?

Yet with time, caries wont give a damn about your revolt.

Conservatives may be no great supporter of men’s rights but they have been far better than actively anti-male liberals.

Consider Obama’s anti-male title IX mandates which were rolled back by Trump only to have Biden bring them back. Trump had also been fighting DEI. Most of the laws that discriminate against men were pushed by liberals, Senator Biden being a big champion of VAWA.

To be honest, while Conservatives are not always right.....

At least Conservatives are actually more open to dicussing and tabling issues in society, without the over the top strict censorship or bizzare outright denial that the New Left has morphed into.

You can go on a Conservative podcast and talk about either Womens or Men's Rights issues.

They may not agree with you.

But you can still do that.

The Left is generally not even allowing the tabling the issue in anyway that does not meet the latest "narrative".

Conservatives are in a strange way, more open to dialogue and change in ways that Liberals these days simply are not.

The alternative is a liberalism that worships the worst parts of the female psyche, while blanket claiming all men to be rapists and useless while living in a world built by a majority formed by men.

Right now, while I admit some things of the right are not 100% to my liking, it's the fact that it's 98% there, recognizes men and their real value to society, is still to this day the only side that accepts the reality that for a society to thrive we need families, and families are what have kept civilizations going, and clearly calls out when degeneracy leads to cultural and societal decay.

Some of the things OP mentions have been part of the social contract, ie, you get married to accept a role and you as a man have stoicism on your side rather than being run over by every emotion. Self-Sacrifice for the sake of keeping your family and loved ones has been around since the beginning of time. There is a prize for trying too, in status and wealth. While I agree being drafted into a war to be stupid because it was always the old sending the young to die, everything else is written in the post as self-defeatist. You SHOULD try, because it will get you places, you will meet people, and your life will be lived to the fullest. The current climate where I see men turned into emotional lesbians to fight a concept called "toxic masculinity" which was created by women trying to tell men how to act, how to think, how to live, just so they can feel a false sense of empowerment and men accepting this, is the clear cut "weak men create hard times" point of the pendulum swing.

That being said, liberals are outright hostile to men these days. I was a liberal all my life, and while my values have changed slightly, the values of the left have become virtually unrecognizable to me.

Toxic masculinity, the patriarchy…all this nonsense while men suffer.

You’re right that conservatives are more likely to advocate for traditional gender roles, but at least it gives men a role.

IMO there’s nothing wrong with feeling that men and women evolved differently so that we can balance each other out through partnership.

The left’s perspective is that gender differences are all a result of male oppression, women are superior in every way, and that men should sit down, shut up, and do what we’re told.

But look: At least back then, when conservatism was dominant, both genders were expected to perform their duties… Nowadays, we’re all “liberal” on paper but, in reality, men’s traditional roles are still enforced (and will particularly be enforced when shit hits the fan). On the other hand, women’s traditional roles were left behind, and they can now do whatever they want. They have all the privileges without having any responsibilities. Is this fair? No, not at all.

Now, let’s be realistic here: Society will never change… Those things you mention will probably NEVER change, there’s just no way… But there is a way of bringing conservatism back again, and that will at least bring some equality and balance back again.

Men are expected to do the same things they did 100 years ago, but with women that are 100x worse than our grandmas. That’s bullshit, and it REALLY needs to change.

And I say all of this as a 21 years old that’s NEVER been a conservative (not even close) throughout his life. I was honestly the opposite… I’m not religious, I thought traditions were stupid, I thought defending conservatism was an outdated view, and I thought conservatives were stuck in the past (some are tho)…

I don’t see things that way anymore.

I now believe conservatism is built on traditions, which are basically social experiments that have worked before (so we stick to them). Maybe we’re not so intelligent to try and change that… maybe our ancestors were right, maybe we can’t ever change certain things…

What opened my eyes was looking at today’s society (in many ways)… it’s absolutely disastrous. I truly believe it would be MUCH better if conservative values were still enforced (not only for this thing you mentioned, but for MANY things).

So, to finish: I don’t think conservatism will save ME, but I believe it could save society. And I see the things you mentioned as a problem, but honestly, how could it ever change? You can’t change human nature… Just learn to deal with it, it’s the best you can do.

In the long term I do agree with this sentiment. However, I do understand why conservatism at first may be more appealing to young men who arent really critically thinking the situation through. When you have one side who has basically demonized young men for the past decade, it may be reassuring to find solace in a group that isnt really doing that.
