One of my coworkers was an aesthetician at her previous job at a spa in Boston. Part of her job was to do laser body hair removal on clients. One day, she was relating the story (while giggling) of how she had a male client getting laser hair removal from his speedo area.

Before I go on, I have to say that anyone who does body work (massage therapists, physical therapists, aestheticians, etc...) will occasionally come across a client who is touch-deprived and will have involuntary physical reactions. Those reactions can be anything from giggling to crying to sexual arousal and anything in between. It is NOT a come on to the body-worker. Rather, it's an indication that the client is starved for physical attention. I know this as someone who frequently experiences all of the above during massage and who's boyfriend is a massage therapist.

Anyway, this guy gets an erection while having laser hair removal in his nethers. My coworker bragged that she was so offended that she zapped his testicles with the laser and yelled at him. "How dare he..." and the like. When I pointed out to her that he simply got an erection and didn't do anything with it nor say anything to her about it, she got miffed. She become outright pissed when I said "Ya know, he should have had you brought up on assault charges and closed your spa down".

She only speaks to me for strictly work related matters now and this is just fine by me.

My question to MensRights is: What would you have done? Have you ever "offended" someone with an ill-timed boner? Is every hardon you experience meant to be an indication of intent (my guess is no)?

Edit: No I do not know the name of the spa, nor will I reveal my co-worker's name or any other personal info about her.
