I watched a report on the declining birth rate in Japan. One reason cited was the fact that less relationships were formed in general due “to put it in blunt terms, too many economically unviable men”. Then they went on to explained how wages are stagnating. I’ve been thinking about this for a while. Do you think it’s “fair”? Maybe we can try in reverse. What if women were collectively overweight. Would we see news “relationships not forming due to too few physically viable women?” I think men as a group are quite interesting. They’re pretty much the only group that has to pull itself up by the bootstraps (I forgot his name but an author of books on men’s issues said this). I can’t quite put it into words, but I do think it’s a bit cruel? Essentially, only the strong survive. The weak perish.
