I'm a stay-at-home dad. After my wife's career took off, we relocated for her job. I quit my job that made significantly less and we decided that I would stay at home with our new son. He is now 3 years old and we also have a 1 year old.

My wife has been getting stressed out about her job. As time has gone by she has become increasingly negative at home. She criticizes me constantly. She has been mocking the fact that I stay with the kids all day, even though she is barely able to spend a whole day with the kids, by herself, without getting stressed out (it doesn't happen often).

Tonight, we were driving home and we were having an argument that culminated in her slapping me in the face (not hard, hurt me emotionally more than physically). I kept driving and she picked up the phone and talked to her mother about how much fun she had today. After we put the kids to bed she started telling me I was stupid for having coffee at night(it helps calm me down). When I didn't respond she said "Nothing is stopping you from getting your shit and getting the fuck out."

I don't want my kids to grow up with divorced parents and I know I will probably get the short end of the stick in court.

I'm just looking for some advice and to get this off my chest. I have no one to talk about this with.
