I saw the thread where that happened. Not only did you get downvotes but the OP of that thread where that happened also did. All for saying that someone he was breaking up with was someone who was way out of his league financially

It's not uncommon for people on most subs on reddit to downvote you for not giving women special treatment or consideration. This site has always been like that and full of people that will attack and mock you for refusing to do so. The lesson to take away is to not post on those subs or post on a throwaway where your post history can't be stalked to your main account.

And try as best as you can not to let such insults get to you, even if you get treated badly by the mods. The worst thing you can do (and the best thing for them) is to accept that label being put on you and start identifying that way. They know nothing of your life, they are just douches looking for a reason to attack any man that doesn't flatter women. Even compared to IRL or other websites, reddit is one of the most common sites on which this kind of thing happens, don't let them get to you.

I studied Lit Theory extensively in college, and I had to do deep dives into each Wave of Feminism. Fourth Wave Feminism was barely just starting when I graduated college, and while the whole Postmodern Truth theory in third Wave Feminism can be annoying, it’s not a fucking racial slur to be called a Third Wave Feminist.

Fourth Wave Feminism is the worst. The intention was fine: rebalance gender power. It failed to do this, and allowed laws to be weaponized against men, while creating victim fetishes.
