Gillette had a dropping trend before the ad, and while the sales continued to drop, it can't be said with certainty that it dropped more than it would've anyway. Looking at the numbers, it seems like the trend simply continued.

On the other hand, sales for other P&G products increased. Again, we don't know if the ad had anything to do with this, but the company doesn't really feel our boycott I'd say. Overall they are swimming more money.

Also, I would say that people going to the streets classifies as "crying", the very thing you say is not working. It's almost like I'm arguing with Bugs Bunny here, with the "- No! - Yes! - No! - Yes! - Yes! - No! God damnit!"

Well that depends. If we say that this should or shouldn't be the way to deal with it for both genders, then it really isn't a double standard. I, for one, think stuff like this should not get people fired, no matter what the gender is. It's a shitty move, I do not stand behind that at all, and you could (and should be able to) involve the police, but I agree with the above poster to not get people's work involved with this. We should keep legal issues within the legal system. If it has a bias against men, then our goal should be to change that.

Mostly I just don't think we should decide for the dude that he should put his business/job at risk over this because we think it's good for the greater good. The dude could end up on the wrong end of the case, depending on contextual information we don't necessarily have.

But yea, if you think that something silly like a facebook conversation should be used to get women AND men fired, then it's really not a double standard. But I think redpillcafe just wants women to taste their own medicine out of spite to change the situation for men. But that seems to be like briefly advocating for different rules to apply for men and women. Fire women because I think men shouldn't be able to get fired over this. I don't know, I don't like this line of thought.
