Whats the difference between this sub and menslib?

MensLib Priorities:

1) Feminism

2) Women... if it doesn't get in the way of supporting Feminism

3) Maybe men... if it doesn't get in the way of supporting women or Feminism.

MensLib mods recently had an AMA with a DV "expert" based solely on how much advocacy for female victims.

They brought someone who had never done any advocacy for male victims to speak to male victims.

Shockingly (to no one with any intelligence) he didn't believe male victims existed, and was a proud supporter of the feminist Duluth model.

men < women < feminism = menslib.

Menslib is an explicitly feminist subreddit. As the foundational principles of all flavours of feminism (class warfare between men and women with men winning, shorthanded as "Patriarchy") are inherrently anti-male when you examine what needs to be true for it to accurately describe reality, that makes them not fit for purpose as a men's issues subreddit.

The Chuck Derry ama exposed exactly how menslib is different from mensrights. There is a reason he chose to do it on menslib and not here.

From the feminist perspective, men aren't victims. They are perpetrators. If a woman is a perpetrator, it was actually in self defense from a man, and he still is at fault.

What I found interesting was the number of men who pushed back on it....but then were very apologetic about it under fear of criticizing feminism.

Menslib is not a safe space for men to talk about their issues. It is a feminist space where feminists control what issues men are allowed to talk about and how they are allowed to talk about them. Since the feminist perspective reflects Chuck Derry's explanation of domestic violence between the genders, all of the issues are shown in the light of how its all men's fault for everything.

How can you address issues you have if you are forced to blame yourself at every turn? No doubt men have to take responsibility for things that can take responsibility for, but no way should men take responsibility for issues far beyond their control.

Menslib is not about men's issue but how men are the society's issue. They take the feminist stand point :

Men are privileged oppressors who always have it better but they are so stupid that by oppressing women they create issue for themselves. As long as you recognize youe original sin and vow to always put women and women's issue above men's and men issue, you can get some lips service "patriarchy hurt men too".

I don't think I have to go more into details.

Here we talk about men issues instead of minimizing it or outright ignoring it.

Mensrights is very low censorship. You are allowed to ask questions. You are allowed to criticize subgroups of men, women, or MRAs based on their behavior. You are allowed to criticize biased definitions (rape, domestic violence), shaming language (incel, virgin, toxic masculinity), feminist theory (patriarchy, oppressor/oppressed sexes), etc. Only really off topic or misogynistic stuff generalizing all women is removed.

Menslib is very pro-feminist and as a typical feminist leaning subreddit believes in high censorship ... as you will see if you browse with reveddit or ask the reverse of this question there.

At Menslib you will hear that the root of male problems is patriarchy. If you disagree, they will ban you to equalize the privilege. Thats an echo chamber not sub about men.

Here, its more difficult to get a permaban for wrong opinions. This also means you may hear some opinions you dont like (and people from across reddit would love to see banned).

r/Mensrights is, as the name implied, a subreddit about men's rights and men's issues. Any discussion about the topic is allowed and you can criticize both on the left-wing and right-wing part of the political spectrum if they contribute to men's issues.

r/MensLib is not a men's rights subreddit, it's a feminist subreddit for men. Criticizing feminism is not allowed and they are very open about that, they even state it in the subreddit's rules. In general any approach about men's issues that doesn't state men or "patriarchy" is the cause will likely get removed there.

To add onto what everyone else has said about how MensLib is pro-feminsm, banning any criticism of feminism, I'll say the following.

MensRights is people trapped in a shed with an axe, and bursting their way out by breaking the shed to pieces.

MensLib is people trapped in a shed with an axe, being told that they should try to escape, but being told that if they touch the shed with the axe, they're in trouble.

Feminism is the cause of many of the problems men face today. It's also the reason many pre-existing problems men face continue to exist without contention. MensLib would have men address the issues they face without ever so much as acknowledging the reason why they face those issues.

It's impossible to promote men's rights without criticizing feminism. Yet MensLib pretends to do just that.

They (menslib) are lapdogs of feminism, so any talk about how women or feminism are guilty of something related to men's issues is completely shut down, so it's not really a good start, here the talk is nuch more free in that aspect, it's safer in general, you don't have to worry of having your post about abuse you suffered being deleted because it said something considered anti-feminist. In general this is the superior group for the average men, if you however feel like a more left leaning/feminist friendly place is more adequate for you then by all means give menslib a chance.

Oh my god! This makes me feel so much better! I just got banned for posting on trying to open a discussion for how we as men can combat the notion that feminism is misandry for "not being related to mens issues" Like WTF? I consider myself a feminist, and ultimately an egalitarian. I guess that would make me an MRA too but both feminism and MRA leave a bad taste in people's mouths for understandable reasons. So I wanted to have a discussion about this and it seemed like the best place to go. Nope. Banned with a message saying I wasted their time when I couldn't see the first message they sent me about it. I've learned since that some subs are way to strict with what they do and don't allow. Not to mention inconsistent af.

r/MensRights is sub with basically no censorship whatsoever unless you're misogynic or misandry. because of this people can talk about any men's issue without the worry of them getting banned. this makes sub more aggressive, straight to point and can whomever you want if they did something against men's rights or issue.

r/MensLib is a pro-feminists sub which basically follows the pathway of feminisms but for men. the censorship there is very and you have to be very careful about what you say. for them if you criticize any women or maybe feminists then you are probably banned till now. their is no self criticism of feminisms in that sub which basically excludes people who think that they have been ill treated by feminism left alone. Another thing what i found about that sub is their is a ton of techno blabbering and mostly they focus on men's mental health.

This group focuses on mens issues but also has a lot of anti feminist stuff, rage bait, doom scrolling, and anger. It's often more venting based than solution based.
