Law of Averages.

In my uneducated opinion, I would say that this distribution is correct because on one end of the spectrum you have people have very little sexual experience bring down the average while there are people on the opposite end with 20+ partners.

With the advent of more ways to not socialize with the outside world (computers, TV, video games, social media, etc.) you will have a lot of people with much less partners then average.

With that being said I think the Pareto Principle applies again. I also would say the average women has more sexual partners then men simply because a much more attractive dude will lower his standards to fuck an average chick while an attractive women is much less likely to lower her standards to fuck an average dude.

When I talk to people who were young (20s/30s) in the 60s, 70s, and 80s I always got the impression they were just... fucking. Constantly. With all of the people.

They all eventually married.

But I didn't get the impression they were at all prudish about partner count or sex in general.

I've literally heard people say "AIDS ruined the fun."

I'm Gen X; just barely (born 1981). When I was in high school (mid to late 90s), there really wasn't much to do for fun other than mess around with women. Now, with the internet and all that, I could see why people of both sexes would opt out. There are just too many entertainment options available.

I think the vast increase in population of BB's has caused this result. The incels are skewing the result because they are 80% of men, and have had sex with a couple of hogs and once pity sex from a 6.5.

Sex is a class issue. The 80/20 rule is masking what's going on. 20% of men have high partner counts, while 80% have 1 or none. Sex in the previous generation was more equitably distributed.

I think this may be due to a very high amount of "herbivores" and extremely unnatractive people who are brnging down the average, compared to previous generations. That said I'm very surprised at those numbers.

I think trying to predict lifetime total counts for millenials is total bullshit. They've got so many milestones yet to come. I mean seriously can we even predict their divorce rate? Surely that's going to have a lot to do with how the economy goes, right, can we predict the economy? And then there's the influence of increased obesity, maybe a lot of millenials are just going to be too tired to fuck anyone when they get into their forties. The factors involved are too many and too varied. Wait and see is the way to find out.

however you are conveniently leaving out the average age of first marriage. people back then settled down younger. it's an uncontroversial fact.

if what they say is true, that means people were have more sex in a shorter frame of time in a culture that was much less permissive of sex than ours is.

care to explain how that is?

edit: another variable they aren't factoring is the prevalence of BC and anti depressants. both have been proven decrease sex drive.

As somoeone outside the US, I feel this is an example of a flawed methodology producing a flawed resutlt. There's just no way a pre-hookup culture generation is having more sex than a post-hookup-culture generation. The author(s)'s methodology MUST have been flawed.

Sure it goes somewhat against the idea.

But to really take down the idea, you'd have to show that people prior to the sexual revolution slept with more partners (eg. the Greatest generation).

Usually people use pre-sexual revolution and post-sexual revolution as the dividing line. And all three generations mentioned are post sexual revolution.

I don't really understand how they can have an accurate partner count for millenials if they're not done with their lives yet. I mean they're only a quarter or so through their lives. How do you know they won't go on to have more sexual partners?

To summate, while the millennial generation is the most sexually accepting generation regarding partner count and premarital sex (also, though unrelated, homosexuality), they will end up having sex with fewer sexual partners than their parents or even their grandparents.

Really not sure I buy this TBH. From what I've heard from most boomers, including my hippy liberal feminist parents, the sexual revolution mostly occurred within a specific demographic.

Another thing to take into account here is the amount of pornographic sex had by millennials, which I suspect is much greater than the amount had by boomers or gen x.

From what i have read in the red pill, a common theme seems to pop up with the women that ride the cc from the case studies. Its partly why i do not believe in awalt in general, as i think there is enough evidence there with all the case studies to create a "slut demographic".

Now, even though i do not agree with awalt, and think it may be wrong, i do think its a good idea. A lot of people wear their hearts on their sleeves, and that is something red pill fixes. It also encourages guys to cut themselves off of toxic relationships, and limit those relationships to just sex only.

As for the studies suggestion in a decrease in sex partners. I believe it. the millineals grew up in broken house holds, and evidence suggests that the ones that did not, had serious advantages over the ones that did.

So now there is a generation that has learned to appreciate the value of a stable marriage. They have grown up listen to their parents regrets, or have come to their own conclusions first hand. Marriage also has a lot of good economic benefits too.

I hope this study is accurate, as it strikes me as a positive trend for society
