If not, can you explain why gender role affirmation is preferable to you?

For example, I like that my boyfriend is 'metrosexual' (If that's even an accurate term anymore). He uses face masks and toner, and is always making an effort to look put together when he leaves the house.

I also like to see that my mother is an extremely efficient worker at her job. She's very type A, and I've never seen her ease up on her work or get lazy.

These might not be hard coded roles, but they defy expectations and I get a small amount of satisfaction in seeing that break from the norm.
