I've wrote about my experience in speed dating before, and it wasn't very good. But overall I think my dating experience has been quite negative, not just in speed dating. I wanted to ask if other men in general have had similar experiences.

To start, I began with apps. This is how it went:

-Some matches here and there, most stop talking or even ghost me after making plans

-A few dates where I found the pictures looked much better than they did in person

-One person where we talked and met each other a few times over a couple of months, I broke it off because she kept bringing up her ex-FWB

-At this point, I tried speed dating. For the first event I tried, men could not say yes or no, and whether one matched or not solely depended on the woman saying yes or no. I got 9 matches, but 3 were from women I did not find attractive. They did not reach out to me, so I did not message them. I reached out to the other 6, 5 of them did not reply, 1 did reply and said she thought I was good but I mentioned wanting children in the future, which she did not, so we both agreed it would not work. This first event was about 50/50 men and women.

-I tried another speed dating event at a different event planner. This time men and women could say yes or no. I ticked yes on 70% of the women there, When I got the results back, 1 woman matched with me and she did not reply to any further emails. I befriended two other guys there, they had similar results. This event had 2 women for every 1 man.

I am wondering if this experience is pretty typical for most other men- so far from my relatives (who were older) they found success with Tinder, though none have tried speed dating and have it work. And if your experience is different, I'd like to hear a little more about it too.
