I don’t think I agree with your definition of the word “patriarchy” here bro. I don’t believe “patriarchy” is as simple as “the most wealthy, high value men fuck the most beautiful women”.

I do agree that men have traditionally been incentivized to pursue wealth and resources at a more aggressive rate than women. But even then, the amount of women choosing men solely based on their finances seems to be dropping for everyone except the Uber-rich. So who knows whether that will still be true for anyone other than the 1% in a few years.

Patriarchy is long dead.

It is not about sex and kids, it is about economy, always have been.

Hunter gatherers weren't not patriarchal.

Patriarchy rose with Neolithic revolution, introduction of arable land, private property, inheritance (and thus need to track who is the father), need for armies to protect property.

Majorate (right of the eldest SON to inherit) is the epitome of the Patriarchy. It is deeply ingrained in all abrahamic religions.

Then came industrial revolution, postindustrial economy, contraception, no need for physical force, no need for big standing armies (because of nukes). Raising many kids is pointless, but few kids need long and expensive upbringing until they graduate and become sustainable. Postindustrial economy equalizes men and women because brainpower and education worth much more than strength. Feminism merely rode the tide, not caused it. I mean feminism of the XX, not the intersrectional one who tries to invent more and more patriarchy/oppression to keep itself afloat.

Patriarchy is dead. Economically obsolete. Let the dead rest.

Agropatriarchal values dominated when you needed men who could leverage their greater strength and aggression to defend fertile patches of land. It was an alliance between elite men and low value men, where the latter got wives and the former got soldiers and everyone benefited from the caloric surplus. Farmers are the original bug-men and rice-farming cultures as by far the worst in this regard; the labor needs often culminated in arranged marriage cultures where female mate choice is limited and sexual selection low. Compared to nomads, farmers are both more patriarchal but also weaker, less attractive to women and more neotenous. (And more pedophilic)

Our current industrial-capitalist metacivilization creates more economic value from women as producers and consumers than as uneducated, unproductive baby factories and utterly marginalized the value of farming through several agricultural revolutions, culminating in the green revolution and the shattering of the Malthusian ceiling. That massive wealth, in turn, could be turned into high-yield explosives and semi-autonomous drones to turn hordes of those super macho patriarchs into red mist. The current meta-civilization is an alliance between elite men, women and hyper-productive, liberated outliers such as homosexuals.

But this is not the end of the story though, nor of men's woes. The status quo where both sexes relied on each other for survival is broken; even a return to the pseudo-matriarchal tribes of the past, where both sexes had weapons and leverage to bear against the other is gone. The ongoing technological revolution, the trifecta of AI, robotics and biotech makes predicting the future uncertain but barring a truly dark age of total deindustrialization, the average male is quickly becoming superfluous in every sense. Every metric, every bit of data we have points to a stark, cruel fact: women do not want you in this degenerate form, and likely never did. Your future is the Lek.

This is true only in a society where procuring resources requires direct physical strength, a thing that our society no longer requires even close to the extent it used to.

The wealthiest men don’t attract the most beautiful young women. Google who Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos left their wives for. A woman in her 70s and a woman in her mid-50s. Both of these women are wealthy as well.

People pair other people like them In terms of looks, age and social class. The outliers like Madonna, Cher or Donald Trump are just that: outliers. And they don’t exactly give off the impression that their relationships are based on love.

Definitions of Patriarchy vary a bit, but are not at all what you mention:

Patriarchy: “a system of society or government in which men hold the power and women are largely excluded from it.” (Online Dictionary)

Patriarchy is a social system in which positions of dominance and privilege are held by men. (Wikipedia)

We simply do not live in a patriarchy. Women are not excluded. They may run for any public office. Women are not only allowed to vote, but outnumber male voters. Feminism has much more influence than the MRM. We have passed many laws privileging women. More women than men go to law school, med school and become psychiatrists.

Women are not excluded from governance or highly valued positions and they are afforded many privileges. This is not a patriarchy.

Depends on what you define patriarchy as, but if you mean men will always have more motivation than women to compete financially because of female selectiveness, you may be right. As long as women value income, it will be that way.

I'm not sure will women indefinitely value more income no matter what, though. "Provisioning" can mean so much more than bringing money home. The point of provisioning is making sure that children have all of their needs met. As we become more rich and our basic needs are met more easily, our needs are complexifying. People are becoming more aware of the value of childhood experiences, attachments, and modeling healthy behavior. For poor women, money is always going to be very important, but for more well off women, other factors that ensure emotional needs of their children are met may become more and more important.

I'm not sure whether or not this will happen, but data on who is the breadwinner in relationships is slowly shifting.

It's a slow trend, and who knows how far is it gonna go. It might not go very far, but it might shift considerably.

What I agree with you on is that women will prioritize wellbeing of their kids and if that means prioritizing partner's income, they will do that. But it seems to me like past a certain threshold, it starts mattering less and less and contributing less and less to the child's health and happiness. And we're slowly getting educated on that as a culture.

Men are hyper obsessed with youth, beauty, and fertility, since all three are interlinked. And they want to fuck as many women as possible to spread their seed as widely as possible.

Women are also highly compelled by physically appealing men: tall, muscular, handsome etc - all things that are biomarkers for healthy men. They are also attracted to survival value: protection and provisioning. So they are very picky with who they fuck given the huge toll being pregnant and caring for a child has on her body.

The reason more and more young women are going childfree is because of not being able to reply on a man to be around when the kids pop out because there are manosphere guys saying marriage is pointless for men these days and calling all women gold diggers so why would a woman want to risk that especially given most men are not rich and even if they are theres no guarantee she will be provided for unless she is married? Have you not been paying attention to the global birth decline?

OP, the problem is how you define patriarchy. By your definition, you're just describing human behavior. So, in that sense I agree with you. But that's not a patriarchy. You're essentially the other side of the coin as feminists, who take every negative aspect of society and human behavior, and blame it on the patriarchy.

A patriarchy is necessarily a political system, a system that explicitly gives more legal power to men than women. For example, a legal system in which women can not own property, but men can, world be patriarchal.

It strikes me as similar to people who say things like 'God is everything man'. Ok, if God is everything, then why use the word God. Just say everything. You're simply describing human behavior, so why call it patriarchy?

So, I tend to agree with you in a certain sense. What women select for in a partner influences greatly how men behave. And, obvious to all but the most ardent blue pillers, women, in the aggregate, select men on a hyperbolic curve, ie men who are between 2-6 see little variation in attention from women. 7-8 start to see increased attention. But past an 8, the amount of attention increases exponentially. This is a fact that no amount of distraction can change. It just is. But, that's not patriarchal. That's just humans being humans. Men will correctly recognize this behavior and, to the extent they can, adjust accordingly. Many will lament their lot in life.

It is analogous to capitalism in a sense, although I think it's more like an unregulated free market, which is related to, but distinct from, capitalism. Unfortunately, it's taboo in our culture to discuss relationships in this manner, even though it's 100% accurate.

I think a better explainer of this phenomenon is the greater male variability hypothesis.

Women tend to aggregate around the mean. The design of the female body is more conservative because a species needs almost all of the female to procreate to keep going. Reproduction is much more taxing for females and takes up a lot of our energy (both in terms of time investment as well as physical reality). While male sex hormones are quite dominant in the body, the actual reproductive investment is much more smaller. So genetically it's less risky to go more "experimental" in the male design. That means that we see men doing extremely exceptional things, as well as clustering in the lowest rungs of society. And the extremely successful men make up for the less successful ones, so as a species we are net-net just fine (though like women, the majority of men are also average - there are just more above average and below average males compared to females).

I doubt any amount of feminism or women's lib will change this, as it is biologically driven. Which is fine, and it's kind of ridiculous anyway for women to insist on 50/50 representation at the top of society while being totally fine with males dominating the populations of the homeless and incarcerated. As long as the average woman has the same opportunity as the average women, I think we are in a good space.
