Too many men in society now are so desperate to get laid that there is an entire culture of incels who insult all women out of frustration for not being able to have sex. Then there are some who even take it as far as going on killing sprees for such a petty reason which is clearly a problem. I wondered what was up with this attitude thinking that if they don't have sex, their lives are over or something, why is it that important? Seems part of it is due to how men are pressured to have sex to count as a man or something.

Although thinking more, I think part of what helped me to not have this problem was that I had a lot of volcel characters to look up to growing up. Particularly from old anime(sadly new anime have become infested with incel MCs) like Luffy from One Piece or Ryoma from Prince of Tennis. These kinds of characters are captivated by their passions so they don't even pay romance any mind even when they have opportunities to get a girlfriend. Then although this next one might be a bit overboard but Edgeworth from the Ace Attorney series, who not only could easily get a girlfriend, sees love as a nuisance getting in the way and he's really admirable as a fighter for the truth.

In any case, these characters feel like they have much more purpose because they show there are more important passions and ambitions to live for rather than sex. They could easily go their whole lives as virgins and still feel fulfilled. Meanwhile, incels see sex as the be all and end all of life, there's just so little purpose to their existence it's really pathetic.

A favorite kind of character of mine though are ones who usually aren't into women unless one impresses him enough to catch his interest, like how Sherlock Holmes was with Irene Adler. Since it shows how in itself, just getting a girl isn't all that great but finding someone special is what's really wonderful. I wish there are more works that express that.

I think that's the problem with most men nowadays, too much importance on sex and so little purpose as a whole. In the real world, many great scientists remained single, for example, Isaac Newton being a really famous example and I respect him hundreds of times more than any "alpha men" with a high sex count no matter how many women he slept with.

Also, I think incels have a very shallow view on sex and finding other important things in life should at least teach them to see things more clearly.
