I personally don’t think people can’t improve with working on oneself, and think the fear of ‘beta bucks’ assumes women are gold diggers vs genuinely wanting better for their potential children and happiness. I also think for some - you not all of course as there are middle aged ‘terminally single’ people on here that their situation will improve as they get older if they make active changes sometimes like moving out of their state or even country

All of it is rather extreme, isn't it?

First of all, it would do good to get more data. How many men really struggle with dating? How many men are considered "undesirables"? What makes them "undesirable"? I know you use that study showing that a third of young men haven't had sex in a year, but it doesn't really mean all of them have zero chances to date or have never dated.

Secondly, my wild guess would be that a lot of men who struggle with dating can actually improve their situation if they address their issues. This sub shows that struggling guys usually have a (utter) lack of social skills, high neuroticism, often mental issues and/or being on the spectrum and seeking no professional help, learned helplessness etc. Sometimes you can also add being overweight and/or unkempt to the equations. Neither of these things are easy to improve, but they aren't totally immutable either.

Thirdly, my another guess is that growing social isolation plays an important role in this issue. We could start encouraging young ones to be more social and outgoing, create more opportunities for them to socialize with their peers etc. We also have to provide more accessible mental professional help and help for people on the spectrum, so they could learn how to form meaningful connections with neurotypical people.

From personal experience, I'd say that most if not all people who struggle with dating, struggle for a reason. It's not that they're bad people, but they have issues that stop them from succeeding and most of these issues can actually be addressed.

I’m one of these perma-failures of a man and bought one of those sex dolls. I live in Northern Europe.

I think it’s ok as it gives me a sense of a partner or a home. I’ve never experienced intimacy like hugs and touch etc so it was a revolution. Obv I used it as a sex toy also but that’s a minor use and it was mostly in the beginning. A couple of years later it’s more like a social companion.

They are quite popular with men here. You can see them popping up in the forests and in strange places as people struggle with how to get rid of them.

I go on dates from time to time but honestly I’m so old now that learning at this age how to live with someone or start a family is just such an enormous task. Also the dolls are forever super fit women in their 20s lol while the women I go on dates with are less and less attractive.

So yeah, while it does not make me happy living with a doll it prevents me from sinking too deep into depression.

Other then that I have a job, hobbies and friends and from a purely statistical point of view (iq, height, money etc) I’m in the top percentile. But for some reason I’ve not been able to make it work with women regardless.

As for these options, assisted suicide is a great idea but more for older population who lives alone and is unable to support themselves and have no next in kin. We have surgery for defects paid for by public health care but it has to be extreme. I had my face and neck lasered when I was 22 to remove some shallow blood vessels. Nose/boob jobs you have to pay for yourself. The last bit about the sex dolls I obviously approve of. I think it’s a great way for lonely men to have a partner. More men should get these dolls. I know in the country I live in population is close to shrinking as men are not suitable for women anymore especially poor/uneducated men on the countryside. It’s the same in both Sweden and Finland.

Japan is a little bit weird on feminism, while the general ideas are known, a lot of people is still "Fuck you" to most what we in the west know as feminism. A part of why they'd get away with it, besides a lot of things we might think or not think about is technologized over there than here.

In the west a lot of people, feminists included, will freak out over the idea of robots or very realistic dolls. Degredation of women and all that part. There are ideas around giving robots human rights if they come to existance. I dont think it will be easy implementing dolls and robots as a legal thing in the west. There are dolls that looks like children and they are already outright banned because of relations to kiddie porn.
