To be entirely gender blind, in every sense. You treat people as people, not by gender. This is especially true for workplace equality. As long as you have the best people to do the job, it doesn't matter if you have 100% men, 50% women/50% men, or 100% women.

I think people should be equal before the law. That means we have an equal right to vote, be fairly represented, trial by jury, and equal rights to (our own) life, liberty and property. It also means we should have equal obligations under the law, such as taxes, or selective service.

When feminists use "equality," it really translates to sameness. equality is a mathematical concept, not a political one. 5+2=7, because the Value of 5 and 2 combined are THE SAME as the value of 7.

It's a fundamentally undefinable concept. One sex is disposable and the other isn't. That leads to wildly different treatment and it's not something we can outlearn. Men and women will always make different choices because one needs to defer their disposability. That will always lead to an inequality of outcome and that will always lead to hamsters going wild.

Seriously? The worth of a person varies based on how much you, personally, gain from them? It's hard to even wrap my brain around that kind of self-centredness.

Equality is not about how useful people are to your day to day life, but lets go down that rabbit hole anyway. Did you put on clothes today? Some teenaged girl probably sewed those for you. Did you use your smartphone to listen to music? A woman in china probably assembled that for you. Another one sewed your shoes together, seam by seam. Did you eat anything? There is a good chance the food prep was done by a woman. I could go on.

In fact, I will: Do you have job? The person who processed your paperwork was probably a woman. Did you go to school? Most of your teachers were probably women. Do you have health insurance? Have you been to the doctor in the last few years? The nurse, MA, staff, and assistants, if not the doctor herself, were all probably women. And when they submitted your claims to be filed, they were filed, read, adjudicated, processed, and paid by a woman, mostly likely. Chances are, if you called to ask them a question about the claim, the person on the other line was also a woman. Ever use the library? Have kids who need to cross the street to go to school? Use childcare of any kind? Those day to day services are also, most likely, provided by women. Maybe count, tomorrow, how many women serve you food, sell you groceries, take your toll in the toll lane, answer your customer service call.

And then, of course, there is the fact that when you were born, every single cell in your body came from your mother except for 1/2 of 1 cell, contributed by your biological father. The rest - every single molecule that went into the formation of every single cell, was sucked out of your mother's body.

Regardless - equality is about respecting all humans as having equal worth and dignity, and deserving of the same rights, irrespective of differences in ethnicity, sex, religion, etc.

It depends on the context. Workplace equality is different from legal equality, which is different from social equality, which is different from relationship equality. But in general I think "treating people equally" means treating them as individuals, instead of as part of a group.

In a sense, we are equal. There are no laws in the United States barring men/women from doing anything simply because of their gender, although we are still treated differently in society. Equality to me means that there are no biases for or against you due to your gender, which is something that isn't quite true yet here in the US. I would say both men and women equally experience bias and difficulty in different areas because of gender.

When I think of equality, I think of it in the sense that people are just putting in their worth with what they're good at and not just half-assing it. If a woman wants to be a stay at home wife/mom she better put in work around the house with cooking, cleaning, child rearing. If she wants to be a career woman then she's gotta be putting down money for bills, vacations, savings for kids college etc.. and same goes for the man.

It's pretty irritating when people who use the "equality" status as an excuse to be lazy and not meet the expectations and needs of their partner.. Or use it as an excuse to perform less than adequately at a job.

Different but equal. Take into context the biological differences between the genders, as well as any personal differences on a one-on-one basis into decision making regardless who gets what, who's treated which way etc. etc. Everything that lies beyond the gender binary script as either written by society or dictated by logic and biology should be discarded from consideration when evaluating what should comprise equality on a legal level. Special considerations should be taken for those who identify as transgender as their cases are not regarded as normal, and therefore cannot be safely categorized into a gender-neutral box of what is right and wrong behavior when regarding these individuals.

Personally, I think behavior and viewpoints are so subjective that it's hard to even take into account every one of my own biases, let alone the greater opinion of society at large. I think it would be a waste to try to indoctrinate every person's mind with societal values if the individual in question has not had experiences with the issue themselves.

In short, think for yourself. By your logic, A&B should not be equal, at least in a pragmatic sense, but perhaps there is more for you to know than you think there is.

To me, equality means we both have the same rights - to vote, get a higher education, choose who you want to marry or ask for a divorce.

Equality of rights does not mean we should eliminate the so-called double standards.

As a woman, I know I'm a human being so I have the same rights as a man who is also a human being. We are equal in rights and equals as humans beings.

I think men and women have different tasks and functions to take care of, regardless of rights. This is what makes us different. Equal but surely very different in our purposes.

I don't think either sex is superior to the other, we just function in different spheres of activity A man can be superior to a woman if a woman tries to do a man thing. A woman can be superior to a man if he tries to do a woman thing. With practice, work and dedication, the superiority can become minimal, but we still will be better at performing our own gender tasks
