Why does TRP seem so sociopathic?

This is largely a repeat of something I said in a post a few days ago, but I'll do it again here:

I don't believe anyone writes on TRP with the intention that it should be the one true guide to all human interactions and that if an alien ever came down they should be presented with a copy, lovingly bound and gold-leafed.

Rather, men have literally thousands of places where they can be told to shut up, sit down, stop upsetting women, to trust their betters, to do what they're told, and to be good little worker ants. They don't need more lessons on how the world is fair and everyone gets a prize.

TRP comes off as openly hostile because it's giving the alternative message. It's for people who need to internalize the message that if you sit around waiting for someone to come along and reward you for being a good person and a hard worker, you're going to be feasting off scraps for the rest of your life.

Is that 100% true in every case? Unlikely, but I've always assumed that people reading TRP are humans with brains, who can take that and turn it into something where they can be self-reliant without killing a hooker with a nail gun.

No, you aren't a manipulated orbiter if you have a gf. No one said that. There are plenty of married RP's. You are a manipulated orbiter if you let her control you because you are afraid of her dumping you and you living alone. The RP is about being independent, truly independent. She can't make you happy, only you can do that. If you treat her like a little princess, buy her everything and be her little slave day in and day out simply because she has sex with you, you are an orbitor. If you live your life and are prepared to live without the relationship at any point, you are just a guy.

As far as everything else you said, I truly wonder how old you are. The world is devoid of hope, compassion, altruism and love. At the very least, the world in devoid of meaningful versions of those characteristics. The world has all of those, but in a watered down version.

Let me give you an example. When I was younger, my dad and I went back to visit our aunt who was living in another country. It was my first time seeing her, she was in her late 40's early 50's. After a week, I noticed she was always wearing black. Every time we saw her, she would wear black. Then one day, my dad and aunt were being nostalgic and were discussing a wonderful trip that my dad, my mom, my aunt and her husband went on. In the middle of the conversation, my aunt breaks down and starts crying. I didn't know how to react. Anyway, after we left, I talked to my dad to ask why she broke down, "was the memory not as pleasant for her?" I asked. He said it was because the memory reminded her of her husband, who passed, which also explained why she was wearing black. I reacted poorly and said "oh shit, I didn't give her my condolences, I must seem like such a dick". My dad said, " no no no, it's been over 6 years since he passed. Don't worry, you didn't do or say anything wrong". I was shocked. I've never seen anything like that. 6 years later, my aunt was still mourning her husband's death. I asked my dad, "that's not normal is it? did she try finding someone else?". My dad said "there is no one else for her. She loved one man, and he was it".

That is love, in it's truest form. These days people treat marriage like a revolving door, they stay on it till they want to get off. Today's love is a pale shadow of what love was known to be in previous generations.

You see, that's your problem. You would go insane if there is no hope and no kindness, but at some point in your life, you will realise that that is the way the world is. There ISN'T any kindness and there ISN'T any hope. You can try to keep your eyes closed and your ears covered, but at some point, you will understand it. We all do.

It seems sociopathic and nihilistic to you because the focus of RP is on rational self-interest. Moral arguments tend to fall by the wayside when confronted with cold hard truths about what works and what doesn't.

RP is what happens when moral insanity takes hold - i.e. when people place moral idealism over and above things like: ethics, honesty, common sense, and rationality. You can wish the world was a better place and people all believe in the same things until you're blue in the face, but if all that well-wishing flies in the face of reality, then you're spitting into the wind.

RP is contemptuous of moralizing, because it's the chief weapon of control freaks, ideologues, power-seekers, and sadists. Gone far enough, it opens the door to Machiavellianism that would put the worst bottom-feeders of RP to shame - i.e. radfem bullshit that's really about tearing down anything that conflicts with their agenda, up to and including sexuality, sexual fulfillment, peace and mutual understanding between the genders, even the very ideas of masculinity and femininity.

OP says RP shits on the idea of relationships, and if you have a girlfriend, you're really a cuck-in-waiting or a beta orbiter. What RP really says, is that's what happens if your girlfriend doesn't respect you as a man, and that's the voice of bitter experience.

Where RP misses the mark is in explaining properly that rational self-interest and mutual respect is the foundation of a successful relationship, and when the bottom falls out on that front, all the moralizing and good feels in the world won't save it. Unscrupulous women will cheat, abuse, and manipulate you if their rational self-interest is not being fulfilled, and better women will leave you and show their disappointment to your face.

BP doesn't want to touch these issues, because they know that's an area where their moralizing falls apart, and because they know most women don't want to be the one in the relationship weighed down with the responsibilities that ethical leadership requires.

Whining about RP's tone is like preaching "love thy neighbour" when people are starving and desperate. RP's tone is bitter and nihilistic, just like the real world it emerges from. Empathy and mutual fulfillment, hope and joy, those things come in truth, after you can stand on your own two feet and not need other people to support your ego. Otherwise all the love and goodwill in the world is really conditional - conditional on you being what other people want and need you to be. When you are who you want to be and not what someone else says you should be, that's when you know the good feels aren't some cheap con intended to lull you into false security while you get used.

That's why it's called the Red Pill. The truth (that humans are motivated by self-interest first and foremost, always have been, always will be) is a bitter pill to swallow. But once you've accepted the truth, you can build from a place of honesty and acceptance and create real value. Taking the Blue Pill is asking to continue to live in child-like delusion that people really are selfless and altruistic and will place moral norms over and above rational self interest. It's like expecting everyone else to be a martyr - one day you wake up to the chilling realization that the first person selected to lie down on the tracks in the name of some moral ideal is you.

Not really inaccurate. When I really saw the world for what it was, the first thing on my list was to kill any remaining empathy I had and steel my heart from suffering.

Do you know philisophical dilemma about the fat man on the bridge, the train coming down the tracks, and the 5 people further down the line who will die because the train is going right towards them? While it isn't pretty, sociopathic even, TRP is teaching boys how to be men so that they have the balls to push the fat man off the bridge to save 5 others.

The reality is it isn't a pretty world out there but it takes men to actually have the courage to act with everything you listed: hope, compassion, altruism, and love. The true RP man finds strength in those things and chooses his actions accordingly.

It's competition that forges boys into men and creates men capable of leading (you call it dominating).

We live out this philisophical dilemma everyday we just don't realize it. Now would you rather the world was full of hapless beta's who will watch alongside all the women while the train just goes right by because it's 'wrong' to push the fat man over the bridge?

What can I say? The women in our lives have taught us well.

The world is nihilist though. I view TRP's underlying philosophy as something like Camus': nothing means anything so we're free to create our own meaning. The difference between TRP and existentialism is that TRP gives you an actual roadmap to achieve something, if you want, whereas existentialism only offers a bunch of French dick-wagging.
