So in psychology it is widely recognized that women communicate by “rapport talk” which is conversational based on relating to the other person on a social or emotional level. Men communicate with “report talk” which is mainly explaining information and ideas without much of an emotional input. It really is a little bit of both. There are plenty of guys who talk down to women like they're morons. But, most of the time, guys (women too, but that's not the subject at hand) have to repeat themselves over and over to a number of people on a daily basis, and resort to talking to everyone they've ever had to do that to like they're five. If someone has to do this 20 times a day, it's not mansplaining simply because it happened to you, and you're female. And yes, I was mainsplaining, as this seems to be a point of confusion for some types...

This works exactly the same way for woman accused of 'nagging'. Perhaps if people would actually listen to others rather than waiting for the next time they can talk, neither word would exist.
