Why is "not all women are like that" considered bogus, but "not all men are like that" is ok?

It's absurd enough that it doesn't really offend me. I just sort of roll my eyes and move on. For most of them it is a phase they will move past, and for those who don't they probably aren't going to be very happy in their lives while holding onto that much resentment. I guess that part is sort of sad, but honestly I don't really care. I don't really respect those men, so... meh.

[–]Bogey_Kingston5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Spot on. As a guy who browses TRP and RPW I agree more with what you ladies say that the RP. I first discovered /r/seduction in making my big life changes and discovered I should let go of my harsh misunderstandings of women and simply be the best me. Working out, dressing well, being a fun guy, and cooking have gotten me laid way more often than trying to be the alpha male, or feeling superior to women because they are less or weak or whatever bullshit those dudes buy into.

[–]BakerofpieEndorsed Contributor5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It isn't all of the men in TRP who have this attitude, now I feel like I came off as disrespectful to the entire sub and I didn't mean it that way. I roll my eyes at the men who talk so much about how superior they are, but there are plenty of men who simply use it as a pragmatic approach to dating and aren't super demeaning about women. Honestly I mostly stay away from that sub, though, because the tone is rather harsh and we give similar advice here as the men there who are not anti-woman. We are just nicer about it.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

there isnt one thing about TRP that we also dont believe or say. we just dont concentrate on the male anger at being fooled because it snot our bailiwick

[–]Bogey_Kingston0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

it snot our bailiwick

had to google this to make sure it wasn't an actual euphemism lol

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Argh I always make misplaced juncture typos, lol

[–]SoftHarem-5 points-4 points-3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Careful.

[–]BakerofpieEndorsed Contributor5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

By saying I don't respect them I certainly don't mean all of TRP. I absolutely respect probably most of them and was only referring to the smaller group who are adamant about the points OP listed above. It's not a butthurt, if they don't like me I don't like them thing. I won't go further with that, though. I didn't mean to overstep.

[–]Nynx126 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I guess the problem with RP is that, while there are some main ideas that everyone seems to more or less agree on, there isn't much unity of ideas. Each person has their own experiences and agendas. I don't think ALL RP men believe all "women are just empty vessels for alpha dick".

It doesn't bother me. Most of these things actually hold a lot of truth for most women. Remember, just by being here we are the exception rather than the rule.

Men have a deep-seated instinct to help and protect women, often even when their logic tells them otherwise. In order for a man to seek out/agree with RP ideas he has to have been pretty screwed over by (possibly a lot of) women. It's unsurprising, then, that most men (especially in the "earlier stages") hold resentment and anger towards women and/or society in general.

[–]spongegloss00[S] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh definitely not ALL RP men. I've met some awesome ones who genuinely seem interested in furthering their relationships and being supportive leaders. I wouldn't be surprised if the ones I'm thinking about are bitter after having some bad experiences, I mean you see women like that too.

[–]mordanus1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You guys are the exception to the rule as far as I am concerned. I am immune to women's wiles and call them on their shit all the time. Then I came here to read some of the stuff and I read a post about how some woman would be submissive and just admit she couldn't do something and needed her man. I honestly felt my heart flutter a little bit and I wanted to punch my monitor. I hate that women can control a man with nothing more than a few words. With that said I think that you ladies here understand and care for men more than a vast majority of the rest of the population. Your last paragraph shows that to me.

I'm NOT trolling

I'm not entirely convinced of that, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Also it might help for me to explain it to anyone reading who's still on the fence.

I don't like being told things about myself from a stranger who hasn't even interacted with me once.

That's not what's happening. r/TRP has nothing to do with any individual person, it's merely a place to discuss trends in society, and the principles that can be extracted from those trends. We speak in generalisations with no intent to hurt nor protect anyone's feelings. If you're getting offended by things we talk about that you're certain don't apply to you, then you're defining yourself by your gender rather than your own individual personality.

Now: those 10 dot-points are all strawmen. I've never seen anyone on r/TRP say any of that. The only place I've ever seen that much emphasis on 'alphaness' is satirically and ad nauseum on r/TBP, which leads me to believe that either you haven't been lurking as much as you say, or you just haven't made an honest attempt at understanding anything we talk about. In any case I challenge you to find examples of those points being made anywhere on r/TRP, because frankly every single dot-point is phrased as the sort of dismissive one-dimensional caricature that you can only find outside r/TRP and never actually within it.

If you are not trolling and are genuinely trying to understand TRP, then the following are my corrections to your strawmen:

all women will cheat

It's a cost-benefit thing. All women are open to cheating under the right circumstances, as are all men, but will they do it? Depends on the risk and the reward. A lot of women go through life without ever cheating on their SO.

she won't stay with a guy if someone more 'alpha' comes along

See above. Alpha-male attractiveness might factor in to the potential reward, but it's not the sole deciding factor.

A woman doesn't have the willpower to say no to sex

Girls are taught from a young age that nice things are to be given to them, and they are usually given more lenient treatment by parents and schools relative to boys, so many women grow up lacking a strong sense of self-discipline or consequence, and generally tend to be more susceptible to whims of uncalculated indulgence than men are.

the only reason I'm with my boyfriend is because I've had sex with sooo many alphas before him and now I just want a beta provider

In general a woman will only start pursuing a provider in lieu of an attractive partner if she finds herself pregnant, a single mother, or otherwise in dire straits where her need for a supportive man begins to strongly outweigh her desire for an attractive man. Again it's a cost-benefit thing.

we don't care about a guy's weight, age, hygiene, money, personality, etc...unless of course, that personality is ALPHA

r/TRP is constantly encouraging men to make themselves as attractive as possible. That includes working on all the things you mentioned and more.

any guy regardless of who he is can have sex with perfect 10s constantly, as long as he is a jerk to them

Being an outright jerk doesn't normally factor into seduction, unless the guy is applying jerk-game, which can sometimes be appropriate depending on the situation.

any woman who has a problem with overly-jerky alpha behavior within a relationship is just hamstering- it secretly turns her on

See above. Although some women are convinced by society that they ought to find certain things attractive, and then the hamster wheel starts spinning when they think they've failed to have the correct emotional response - "yeah he was kind and polite and he had a stable job, and we were totally into each other, but I just didn't see us going anywhere, y'know?"

an open relationship is the only type of relationship that 'works'

There are plenty of RP men in exclusive LTRs who are successfully applying RP knowledge to keep the flare alive. There is no RP code of conduct to be obeyed, it's just knowledge, and it can be applied to any kind of relationship.

if you've had sex with even one person before your husband, he's automatically a 'loser beta'

Men tend to prefer women who have had fewer partners. There are a number of reasons why - loyalty, jealousy, cuckolding - but suffice to say that more promiscuous women are less desirable and easier for men to obtain, and therefore the men who are less attractive will inevitably be drawn to settle down with them, because they know they can't do much better (without putting in the effort of self-improvement of course).

any remotely 'beta' behavior is bad, even in a LTR.

Again, there is no RP code of conduct to assign labels like good and bad. Beta-male characteristics like kindness and sensitivity are less sexually attractive to women, but they foster bonding and intimacy, which is what separates LTRs from hook-ups. Some men are just looking to get as much sex as possible, and for them there is no practical benefit to showing beta-male characteristics. But a RP man in a happy LTR will probably have to show a healthy balance of both, because he must be simultaneously a lover and a husband.

TL;DR - "I don't even know how people can say this stuff without realizing how absurd it is."

[–]BakerofpieEndorsed Contributor4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree with you, but some of the men do seem to turn it personal (when a woman comes in to argue with them, which to be clear I don't think is appropriate). I can see how some women could take it personally if there are men who assume the worst of the common female characteristics and use it as a personal attack. However, this only happens when women argue, and the only people women are usually going to argue with are the men who seem angriest so that is what they focus on. The levelheaded majority isn't as interesting or attention grabbing.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yep

I don't think She's a troll though, I think She's just a normal solipsistic girl who's taking everything she doesn't like about TRP personally

That's my thought too- similar to the women who say all men are pigs! Obviously they're not, it's safe to say a lot are, but then again there are an equal amount of awful women in the world.

I just don't like hearing that I have zero free will in my life because everything I do is dictated by whether or not an alpha man is trying to have sex with me. Kinda grinds my gears :P

[–]IOnlySpeakGlitch0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Male here. I believe most of that is part of the anger stage of the process of swallowing the red pill.

[–]Sabetsu1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Someone had mentioned that a lot of the posts over there basically epitomized the five stages of acceptance and I have to agree.

These men are grieving, but it doesn't make the things try say any easier to handle.

[–]RedPillMX0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Men and women cheat about the same (50%), it's more like a cuationary tale.

[–]givemeallthepuppies 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I agree with what /u/technologyneed said--that a lot of the men there have been screwed over by women, so their harsh generalizations are just part of them coping with their loss of illusions. With that said, though, I definitely understand your feelings. In fact, I was just over there reading a post from a guy about whether or not to marry his SO, and almost all of the comments were telling him not to get married, that even though he thinks this girl is special, she's not, he's only setting himself up to have his life ruined, etc. It made me feel rather discouraged, as I have a very strong desire to marry my SO, but knowing that he reads those posts and generally agrees with the ideas expressed makes me feel like my dream of marrying him may not ever be realized. :/

So yes, a lot of those guys do not say the nicest things about women, and it can certainly be discouraging, but again, I think most of them are just angry, likely for good reason, and that's just how they deal with that. A lot of them will come around, though some of them won't, and that's okay. You may find this post useful if you haven't read it already:

http://www.reddit.com/r/RedPillWomen/comments/1x1284/if_any_of_you_hens_find_trp_to_be_a_little_too/

[–]spongegloss00[S] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I saw that and loved it :) Yeah, I definitely saw this as the "anger" stage but what bugs me is not only the anger, because I get that- I've had my angry moments too. But also the fact that people think they can tell me deep psychological things about myself, and then if I disagree it's like "Oh, little lady, you don't even KNOW how much you want to fuck an alpha on the side."

Like, yes I do, I've had that option and I get propositioned for sex with attractive/masculine men pretty often, regardless of where I am or what I'm doing and miraculously I am able to turn it down because I love my BF and I don't want other guys!!!

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I struggle with this as well. I'm a classic INTJ, and a scientist at heart. I have little patience for emotional thinking and lack of self awareness, in other women or in myself.

Being told by a layman that I lack the capacity to self regulate due to my delicate condition is offensive to me.

I do think that most women are lacking in self awareness....but I think most men are too.

[–]givemeallthepuppies 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I think it's true that most women do not know much about themselves. Self-awareness is a trait that your standard female does not possess inherently--it has to be cultivated. I think most of us RPW are more self-aware than your average woman, and we are always working on improving that aspect of ourselves.

So I think those guys are assuming that you are just another standard women, because frankly, most women in our society do fall into that category. It makes more sense for them to assume that you fall into the majority, and as they take the RP ideas into the real world, this is a "safer" attitude that will help them from getting screwed over by women. Try not to take it personally. :)

[–]Demonspawn1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Self-awareness is a trait that your standard female does not possess inherently

It's a trait that nobody possesses inherently.

But boys often learn it. Boys have to learn it because we tell boys that they need to be in control of their emotions. So boys look inward to find out where the emotions are coming from, and in doing this over and over again they learn self-awareness.

Girls often don't learn it. Girls are told that their emotions are always valid and that it's other's people fault that they feel certain ways. So girls don't have to look inward and figure out where the emotions are coming from, instead they look outward and complain that Billy was mean to them.

And, yes, women with self-awareness is major bonus points.

[–]pickup_sticks 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think men are worse at it than women. Otherwise there wouldn't be so many guys in jail for doing stupid things like getting in bar fights over the dumbest shit. A self-aware person doesn't need to swing his dick around proving how tough he is.

[–][deleted] -4 points-3 points-2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

excellent

[–]BakerofpieEndorsed Contributor-2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I know what you mean about worrying about your SO seeing some of that stuff and maybe seeing you more negatively. My husband became quite paranoid after spending a lot of time on TRP, so it still makes me a bit uncomfortable. He seemed to be quite insecure in our relationship for awhile because of it. At this point he would have to be a seriously insane person to be concerned that I may cheat or leave him for someone better because I absolutely dote on him and give him more affirmation and affection than a lot of men would even like.

[–]Wolfwoodd4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

TRP guy here. Just a something to consider.. I'm of the mindset that the TRP subreddit functions as a support group for recovering beta males. A lot of the guys who find the subreddit are hurt and venting. There's a lot of extreme ideas thrown around, because many of the guys were burnt in previous relationships and still going through their bitter phase. Also, some of the big-wig TRP gurus cater to these bitter guys, by advocating even more extreme views. Unfortunately, it's always the loudest and most extreme viewpoints that get picked-up by the masses.

A good portion of TRP is level headed and reasonable. Your list is just the more extreme crap. Some of it has roots in truthful statements and some of it is just rubbish.

Just my 2 cents.

[–]BakerofpieEndorsed Contributor2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree with you, that is why there is NO POINT in trying to argue with these men who are just venting. That's the part of this post that actually bothered me the most. Why argue and harass a guy who is still coming to grips with the time he's wasted getting burned by women because he listened to their advice? It's a sub FOR MEN. It drives me crazy to hear women come here and talk about they were arguing with someone in TRP.

[–]wendy-fly1 Star2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There are things that I don't agree with at this time but there are many things I agree with that I can't find elsewhere. Overall, I want a strong dominant partner whom I trust with my life and I think this is a way to achieve that.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

RP_Man: I wish your points were bullshit however I see this behaviour daily. I try to not let it consume me. To be honest I see no lies here.

[–]spongegloss00[S] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You see fat old guys banging supermodels...daily? or are you just referring to the bad stuff women do?

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I see bad behaviour daily, I hear the horseshit women say and the reasons their actions are ok and how they absolve themselves of any responsibility. As for fat old guys lets just use that as an example of jackass' with money getting tail no they are not models but the women are way outta their league...yet there she is. I just have to shake my head and wonder. Since I've woken up all I can say is how disappointed I am in both men and women. It leaves me thinking its better to just get laid as required and then go my own way.

[–]spongegloss00[S] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, I have my moments where I have my version of this, usually when I see guys with perfectly great girlfriends cheating constantly to the point where they feel accomplished if they don't cheat for a week. Hang in there :)

[–]BakerofpieEndorsed Contributor0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"Disappointed in men and women," I can see that for sure. I do think that feminism was the catalyst for the whole state of the issues you're talking about, though. Feminists wanted to absolve themselves of responsibility, and men wanted to get laid so they went along with it. I can understand just using it to your advantage. There's a lot more free pussy out there because of feminism, which is ironic because so many women are throwing away a natural advantage they have in the name of "grrl power."

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nod. I don't want to see women fail to thrive but I'll be damned if I'll emasculate myself to accommodate them. Truth be told I'm more upset with the pussy men who let this shit continue.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

i agree with all of it and individual women take the generalizations too personally.

women imagine they wouldnt cheat with a regular guy who might be in her world, but they dont imagine if they had the opportunity to have a tryst with george clooney (or insert favorite celebrity here) many many many movies made for women are about happily married women who get a secret chance to bang outside their league and take it, cf. bridges of madison county. there is a reason for this.

its like this "ALL women are X, Y and Z" "THIS individual woman is .5X, 2Y, A, D, 1/3Z. and L"

we all approach the "general" women, some asymptotically, some as far away from it as they can and still be female, but the kernel of TRPs description is in all of us

[–]PhantomDream09 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I was going to comment, but then I saw you already wrote everything that needed to be said. :0)

Ladies: leave your ego at the door when you go to TRP. They aren't talking about you, they're making it easier to discuss and explore certain topics.

You agree that women get turned on by men regardless of if they're Ryan Gosling or a morbidly obese bald guy on reddit? I mean that's the one thing I can't see AT ALL...women may not care about looks as much as men do but we DO care or else we'd all be fantasizing about Winston Churchill instead of Charlie Hunnam, lol

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

many fat ugly and old man have gotten attractive young women to at least give the appearance of being attracted to them because of either wealth or charisma, look however at someone ike roseanne barr--all the money in the world didnt bring men knocking at her door

think about the big picture, think about sam kinisons wife before he died--there was a disgusting man. we'll never know how genuinely attracted to him his hot wife was, but im sure she put on a good act

http://davidmcgough.com/photos.php?photo=2455&origin=%2Fphotos.php%3Ftags%3D13%26start%3D210

you do NOT see this happening in reverse

[–]spongegloss00[S] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oh definitely- fame and money certainly help. But we're talking about guys who don't have either of those things- who just have "alpha" attitude. I mean, that can help, but if a woman is getting attention from guys with wealth, charisma and good looks, it makes sense she'd go for the best man there.

[–]alcockell0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And then enter a film like Indecent Proposal - which is effectively the distillation of the average guy's worst nightmare. And when some of the guys in TRP have had ti done to them

[–]Sabetsu0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I believe stereotypes are always generally true

[–]spongegloss00[S] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

fair enough!

[–]pickup_sticks 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

For a man to cheat, he has to pick up a girl. For a woman to cheat she has merely to be picked up.

I don't think women are morally better than men, but I damn sure know they're not worse.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes that's what I was saying

[–]masturbateawy 0 points0 points0 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I think something that should be added to this while they are saying all women cheat, what should be taken from it is all women can cheat, it's all apart of dispelling the pedestal that women are automatically placed upon.

[–]spongegloss00[S] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That's fair. All women certainly can but I think it's crazy to assume they do it more than men (it's probably about the same)

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

its not crazy, women have 10k more opportunities to cheat than men do just by existing if they arent fat

[–]pinkantlersEndorsed Contributor1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I totally understand how you feel, a lot of it seems a bit wtf to me and is massive generalisations. BUT...it helps to understand the position these men are coming from....a lot of them are really angry, because they've been screwed over by the world and women and they're just starting to work through that process. I think there was a thread a couple of days ago where one of the mods from TRP came here and explained it perfectly - I will try link if I can find it. If it upsets you, as it does me, I suggest not going to TRP for a while and cooling off a bit.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

The problem is that we're all like that to even a small degree. The fact that sets us apart is that we actively try to control our bad behaviors that drive men off or keep us from happy relationships.

We also have to remember the fact TRP is a male environment and all of the men are in different stages of swallowing the pill. Of course they're going to have varying opinions and some will be angry at women. They all hold different beliefs. Some are in LTRs and marriages and some aren't.

Many are anti-marriage (unless a pre-nup) because of the way marriage laws work to women's advantage. It's a system hellbent to screw them over unless their woman is absolutely bent on making the marriage work. They don't see the point in risking everything for one woman, especially if things end up going sour.

Even my boyfriend told me he knows I'll probably tire of him after a while. I intend to make sure that isn't the case and I know he feels the same.

I just remind myself that I'm striving to be the best I can be for my man and that it isn't their fault that many of them are so hostile to a current system that doesn't really work out in their favor.

[–]spongegloss00[S] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I get that, and I pretty much agree- but in terms of being "all like that"...I mean, to what extent? Are most women attracted to 60 year old dudes and don't care about a guy's looks? I mean, I'm not super shallow or anything but it would be cool for a guy to be basically within my range...

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

does the 60 year old man have 10 million $? then yes

[–]spongegloss00[S] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Honestly that wouldn't do it for me...lol. I mean, I guess if I just wanted to be provided for I could suffer through the sex or whatever, but it wouldn't turn me on sexually.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

this is what TRP means by solipsism. i cant tell you whether YOUD do it or not, only you know you...but i can tell you that the REVEALED choices of "women" throughout history over time show that the hottest women on earth routinely have sexual relationships with fat, ugly, old men if they have money or status, and that it is power, money and status that attract women, not looks overall. do looks help? sure. but for women seeking men they arent the total package

[–]pickup_sticks 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There are a lot of sad rich guys who are not getting laid. The pickup industry thrives on those guys. Talk to girls who have been on MillionaireMatch.com sometime.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

No, no. We certainly care about men's looks, but a certain attitude may attract us to them even if they're outside of what we would usually find "attractive."

I know I certainly prefer men of a certain age range and always have. Any others usually needed really great game to hook me otherwise.

[–]spongegloss00[S] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Makes sense. I've deviated from my usual preferences a few times, but it's never been some crazy difference where the guy was 5 points below me or something. I also haven't dated that much though, and I've never had casual sex.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It happens. We usually try to stay in our league and above, though.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

OK Ladies...

TRP is not just "hurt men lashing out". trp is the truth about how men view women. period. some of the anger and hurt you see is "just men lashing out", but the ACTUAL BELIEFS are a statement of male and female biological nature.

if you dont believe this and you think ALL of the red pill is just hurt boys crying then you do not belong here

[–]BakerofpieEndorsed Contributor2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes some of TRP are just hurt and lashing out, but usually that's the only part the women take notice of when visiting there. They only pay attention to the men who are bitter and in the angry stage. It's possible to have those opinions about women and just see them as the reality instead of in a hateful way. The statements about female nature are not inherently hateful or "mean." It's easy for me to not take it seriously when the men are still in the anger stage, but the general information is correct. It really boils down to how they decide to look at it and use it.

[–]pinkantlersEndorsed Contributor1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think some of the attitude that people in this thread find offensive or whatever is from hurt men, who are probably in stage 2 as detailed in this post by SoftHarem: http://www.reddit.com/r/RedPillWomen/comments/1x1284/if_any_of_you_hens_find_trp_to_be_a_little_too/

http://www.reddit.com/r/RedPillWomen/comments/1x1284/if_any_of_you_hens_find_trp_to_be_a_little_too/

I would wager its mostly men who've just found out about the red pill, or dudes that have been burned by the worst of the worst. I personally agree that it's a bit upsetting, but many women are seriously entitled bitches who emasculate the men in their lives. I literally see it almost everywhere.

[–]spongegloss00[S] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh, I agree...sometimes I have a similar level of confusion and anger at BP women who try to derail my relationship by psychoanalyzing me without knowing me, and claiming that I'm some kind of abuse victim because I am able to submit (willingly) to a man who has my interests in mind. I imagine those are the women these men are so angry about, because pretty much all of them embody every awful double standard out there.

Men must love fat women! It's not all about looks!

I won't date any guy under 6'2"!

[–]fihsined1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

noone says all women cheat. this entire post is bogus. the TRP ideology is to TREAT all women as if they cheat and EXPECT all women to cheat. No playing favorites, no unicorns, and no fucking surprises.

This is a pretty obvious fucking troll thread and it's aggravating you're not banned. Half of the things here are just blatant fucking lies not even worth addressing.

Women have integrity, they just don't have loyalty. Not most of them. They do branch swing. I mean for fucks sakes, a common joke on reddit is "Oh my girlfriend told me that I need to know she'll leave me for brad pitt xDD she's so funny".

Pretty much everything else you made up for the sake of not having an empty list.

I left this post up to give the good new RPWs a chance to chime in and correct her misconceptions. She has also turned into a hilarious parody of female solipsism, which is very instructive

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I agree with much red pill thinking, I'm within my own process of working through the ideas contained within as we all know it's quite a bit different from where society is right now and how a lot of us have been nurtured.

I'm seeing in op a person who is trying to engage in that process, and realistically the only way we can do that is within our own heads. I'm not sure how it is solipsistic to stay out of areas geared more toward the PUA community, or men processing their own anger, if that is not helpful to one's own understanding at their particular point in the process.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

you dont understand what we mean by female solipsism. she is reading TRP and then thinking "MEEE!!!!! they are talkig about ME!!!! IMMM not like that!! MEE!!!!" without regard to the fact that she is not the collected expereince of men datign 1000s of woman, but is one individual. she doesnt want to hear what men think that she doesnt like, she wants to cherry pick from TRP what make sher happy. in other words, her experience of TRP is all about her, ot men and what men think

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

in other words, her experience of TRP is all about her

Is that not how we begin to process any new information?

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Go to TRP and read about female solipsism, it's a trp term of art

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

I'm well familiar with the term and concept. My argument is that it's not particularly useful to get aggressive about it with someone who is trying to figure out these ideas.

Same as it's not particularly useful to get on a guy's case for being a beta schlub when he's trying to access red pill for the first time.

Edit: Let me clarify before we get to into this though - What I'm fundamentally agreeing with OP about is the statements one runs across such as "all women are cheaters, that you haven't cheated just means you haven't had the right stimulus, under which you would surely cheat."

That kind of thinking runs along the same lines as the feminist trope that no woman really wants to be in any way submissive to a man in a relationship and if you do think you enjoy it, you're just brainwashed.

Having a position that makes the assumption that others are incapable of knowing their own minds (and I do agree that some percentage of people may actually be incapable) is generally sloppy reasoning despite what camp it comes from. I object on principle to sloppy reasoning.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

i wasnt even going to allow this thread at all but i figured the new girls could flex some muscle on it

i will always aggressively assure that everyone reading a sheisty post i allow knows that whats being said in the thread is not RP advice or is an example of what we disagree with or think it is bad. this allows for disagreement without allowing for tone-shifting and female-centric amelioration of the message, this sub is not about downing TRP or shaming them or arguing with them, we are a part of TRP and agree with them.

your examples are bad because in fact, one statement is true and the other is false. when women say theyd "never" cheat its onyl because the richest, handsomest most powerful man on earth hasnt inveigled them to yet. what they really mean is "no man inMY universe has come along thats demonstrably BETTER than my man yet", whereas when feminists say women arent naturally submissive and are just brainwashe dinto it they are saying something thats just patently untrue. theres no tit-for-tat between the sexes, we are very very different

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

when women say theyd "never" cheat its onyl because the richest, handsomest most powerful man on earth hasnt inveigled them to yet.

I think that is an awful lot of mind reading to do to believe it is a fact that every woman would cheat given certain stimuli. I understand hypergamy, but people also have morals, ethics, and the ability to reason.

Anyways, I'll shut up before I get banned, and I get to be arm candy at a black tie event tonight, so onwards to hair and makeup. :)

[–]pickup_sticks 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

You act as if solipsism is only a female thing. Feminists make the exact same complaint about men coming into their forums.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I act as if I'm discussing the red pill concept of "female solipsism " as specifically discussed in TRP and manosphere sources properly and accurately. I don't know what you think you're discussing or where you think you're doing it

[–]pickup_sticks 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

It's a non-sequitur, like accusing a woman of "female liking food" even though everyone likes food. We all engage in it to some degree, and I see no evidence that women do it more than men.

That's the biggest problem with TRP in my opinion. It uses big words and questionable theories about evolution to create just-so stories. Then it hermetically seals them by, for example, saying a woman has no capacity for self reflection and thus her opinion has no merit.

Ergo, if a woman offers a differing opinion, it's just "solipsism." Consider the idea that rejecting an opinion simply because of the gender of origin is itself a form of solipsism.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

its not just a differing opinion, you are deliberately misconstruing it.

Ok Ladies first off while I appreciate what you are doing within this sub-reddit...hat tip to danabanana for he has already hinted at the solipsism.

TRP is something near and dear to my heart because it has literally changed my life for the better over a period of the last ten or so years. I have mostly been a lurker and a reader of various communities during that time. This actual sub-reddit is just comical in it's existence to me. While I appreciate what I think is the spirit of it on the surface, deep down, there is just something I cannot grasp because we do not share the same biological imperatives based upon our DNA. However giving credit where it's due, I appreciate you all for trying to make the world a better place, within the mating market and without.

Part of me thinks that that ten year period would have matured me in very similar ways and the red pill only helped to illuminate concepts that would have become clear to me regardless due to the many varying circumstances of life that a person faces when coming of age.

I do have to say, however that RedPillWomen seems to be just another instance of general femalian solipsism, or the co-opting of concepts generated by and for men. The reason I am here is partially within my own screenname, but also relates to the current circumstances to my life. I am the big brother to two wonderful sisters, who I think the world of and trust entirely and completely. I also am year two of a long-term relationship with the best woman I've known. Saying all that, I see marriage as the biggest risk facing me within the course of life from here out. Going in, I have to reckon with the fact that the odds are stacked against me and I would be making a bet that could jeopardize my entire life.

People in my life would likely classify me as: that funny, charismatic asshole with a big heart who sees the world a bit differently but can be counted on through thick and thin.

At this point I am going to address point by point the items from the op. However some will be skipped over because they are covered in other items or they generally do not apply as I see the world.

Cheating: General solipsism aside, cheating is literally based upon our options. I do not think TRP advocates that any one woman will cheat, only that we all, as human being a capable of cheating. This does not mean that we will, that we do, or even that we would, but given certain situational criteria we would. And anyone reading this saying, I would never....yes you would, if you needed to. And the moral among you, judge not lest ye...Cheating is immoral, but it is also amoral. There are many things that are pre-cursors to cheating and many things that can be done to prevent it, the most critical of which are a grounded sense of reality and some general life experience.

Too be continued tomorrow...my ladyfriend has arrived.

Continued...

You have twisted the interpretation of integrity and whether women have integrity or not. Obviously there are women and men who lack integrity. This is not gender specific. What the red pill recognizes in the most simple form is that is much easier to 'pull' and get a girlfriend than it is to keep a girlfriend. A man literally has to step his game up to another level within a relationship because a relationship is like one un-ending shit test. A man has to maintain the frame because he has forgone his biological imperative when he enters into an exclusive monogamous. relationship. This can apply to cheating within a relationship. If a man does not maintain frame, and screen, screen prior to entering an exclusive monogamous relationship the risk of cheating goes up and within certain circumstances becomes inevitable.

Alpha is a mindset. Not a demographic. You may have banged lesser men prior to your boyfriend. He may be the 'best' you'll ever get. I have no way of knowing. All of the attributes you list are critical for your own qualifiers. In life attitude is the most critical. You cannot change the way you look (to a certian degree, not talking weight more features) but you can change your attitude. All women care about the various status indicators you identified to a certain degree. For men, we care initially only about attractiveness. Then other aspects come into play. Sorry if you've got a great personality but are 300lb beluga, your personality is not got matter to many men. By taking on alphatude a man will likely have more success throughout life, not just with women. It will become a veritable self-fulfilling prophecy.

Not any guy can have sex with perfect 10s. I don't even believe a perfect 10 exists. No one is perfect. The perfect 10 woman is a unicorn. Guys can have sex with very attractive women. Guys with status and game can get the most attractive women. Status can and usually does transcend age.

Men in long-term relationships will often have to adjust their game during their cycle. There are times when a man can ease off the gas a bit, however there are times when a little bit of 'jerk' will go a long way and could even be a turn-on.

I don't think most people can handle an open relationship. TRP advocates that men should spin plates.

I don't want a virgin. I am 32. I don't think I've dated a virgin since highschool. I also don't want a porn-star. I think partner count can affect a woman greatly, and the brutality of the SMP can add baggage. I think a woman risks becoming an alpha widow with a high N count, or if she obtains a very alpha/high-status man as an initial relationship. This is risky for women and I have no idea how to overcome this risk as a woman. Holding out sex until you obtain some level of commitment seems like a good plan, however you may miss out on the best man for you. Most red-pill men will not stick around without physical intimacy. Holding out may lead to men who may not have other options, i.e. lesser men. It also will hurt if he ever finds out you didn't make someone else wait 'as long'. Again I have no understanding of how to navigate this as a woman, because I am not a woman.

Unfortunately beta behavior can be bad. Showing your soft side to a woman at the wrong time can be bad. Entering a committed relationship can lead to beta-backsliding and slipping up....losing frame.

Marriage friendly sites are not always red-pill. There is a Christian red pill sphere. I get the sense that that sphere is related within framework and thought to the red pill women sub-reddit. Whatever works for you. Good luck out there and I hope you make your life the best it can ever be!!!

recognizing that TRP tells the truth about male and female nature and using that knowledge to make ones LTRs better from our end is neither solipsism nor co-opting. we are RESPONDING to those concepts, not coopting them. coopting them would be what we are constantly fighting against here, women reading TRP and then believing they had to emulate advice for MEN attracting women in order to attract MEN. /r/fPua is full of silly girls using "game" concepts and lingo to try to get men, that's female solipsism--your not a man, you dont "open sets".

[–]TempestTcup0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

LOL, Dana is a woman! And yes, the OP hates TRP because she thinks the men there are speaking about her personally and that if she isn't that way, or more likely doesn't THINK of herself that way, then her exception makes the rule. We here at RPW have to fight that every day.

As far as co-opting concepts generated for and by men, there is always the female side to a couple. If my man is RP then I need to act in accordance with RP concepts too. This subreddit is devoted to finding and keeping a man using natural gender roles. We advocate keeping partner numbers low and obtaining at least a commitment of exclusitivity before sex.

RPW parallels TRP in self improvement but is aimed toward the feminine instead of the masculine.

[–]AnotherBigBrother0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If your man is RP how will you obtain a commitment of exclusivity prior to sex? That pretty much goes against the grain of TRP.

I respect and appreciate your desire for self-improvement and a better understanding of the sexes to promote more harmonious relations.

As men and women, we will have to agree to disagree on certain concepts.

[–]TempestTcup0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, most of us found the red pill after marriage, so that doesn't apply to us, but for the single girls, their future boyfriends probably won't have even heard of the red pill.

We are basically telling the single women here to not be a slut, to vet boyfriends carefully before having sex, and then to take good care of them, look pretty for them and keep their bellies full and balls empty.

I think that this goes along with TRP just fine - we are teaching them to be good LTRs and avoid being plates or pump & dumps. There are still plenty of RP men who want LTRs even though marriage is a bad deal for men.

Your lack of understanding of TRP is kind of laughable. Almost every single one of these is completely wrong. Except the all women will cheat things. Those are pretty accurate. Every woman that I know has someone that they consider their tv boyfriend or the equivalent and that if he showed up they would throw themselves at him. Hypergamy is a real thing and if you aren't aware of it as a woman and aren't prepared for how it will make you feel it will destroy your relationship.

So I've actually been propositioned by wealthy and good looking , charismatic men and said no ...is the idea that every woman is capable of cheating , or that every woman definitely will with the right guy? I feel like I would feel too guilty to ever do it, even if I did want to. (Which so far I haven't)

[–]mordanus0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I feel pretty comfortable answering these types of questions with absolutes except that I am here on rpw. Some of the things you guys say actually make me doubt. A little bit anyways.

It is way more than just capable of cheating. It is that you won't even view it as cheating when it happens. What I have seen in my life and heard in other peoples stories it goes something like this. Woman is no longer happy in relationship at some point. She claims she is stuck in a rut/things are rocky/LDR/bored and need excitement/needs to find herself/no longer in love with SO/was never in love with SO/found my soulmate etc etc.

Woman has either been cheating and uses the other rationalizations to justify it or begins to cheat after justifying that she needs something else in her life. At this point she already has a man in mind to fill the bill which is why she started to rationalize it in the first place.

They then cheat for x amount of time with Y amount of people. Z amount of time passes and they confess/get caught. At this point the woman then blames the man for snooping/being boring/causing her confusion/not being better/not loving her enough etc.

That shit is text book and happens all the time. I am glad that you haven't cheated on your husband. I am sure that he appreciates it. The thing is though that hypergamy is something that all men need to understand. It isn't just that it happened to some guy a couple hundred years ago. It's that it happens all the damn time to rich and poor, alpha and beta. Women will swing to a higher branch as a form of their mating strategy.

Ah, yes, I definitely know what you mean. I also think it's ridiculous that women (some women, at least) justify that behavior by blaming the original SO. I do think that sometimes things can drive a person to cheat (sexual neglect, definitely!) but cheating is still not OK- the right thing to do would be to break things off first.

[–]mordanus0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I agree with you but so few people actually do the right thing when confronted with a choice like that. Or rather doing the right choice in that scenario doesn't make for a story to tell people about. We only hear about the failures. But the failures seem to happen a lot. Guys are prepared for when the temptation comes our way. We have it beaten into our heads not to do it. Many still do but w/e. Women however don't get that same kind of training by society. They get the opposite in many occasions with white knights and feminists.

I am not trying to say that men are pure and holy here. Most people know the true nature of men. People however are not told the true nature of women very often and that is what we try to illustrate on TRP

[–]spongegloss00[S] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is very true; I feel like men generally get the bad rep when it comes to these things and very few people are willing to admit that women are just as much to blame. I don't think women are worse than men, of course, but I think both are equally capable of shitty behavior and very rarely does anyone acknowledge the female side of this. In that sense, I get why women are criticized more often than men on TRP- and obviously the examples I cited are extremes (they're not strawmen though, since a few people here even agreed with them!)

The cheating thing is a red herring. Just about anyone, man or woman, will cheat in the right context.

If a guy's biggest worry is that his girl might cheat with a movie star, that's hardly a worry at all unless she works in Hollywood. A lot of guys would cheat with one of the ten girls in yoga class.

yeah especially when the tell people that once you're married your sex life dies. I like having sex with my husband because i love him.

[–]SirNemesis3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Statistically speaking, this statement is nearly always true unfortunately... IIRC, something like once a week to once a month was the average for married men... :(

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

ask yourself this though. how many times a week does the average single man have sex?

[–]meowfacenator0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

once a week! geez id be so upset if thats all we did.

[–]spongegloss00[S] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I know :( I just find this insane because I can't imagine ever doing that to a guy. Even if my sex drive was low (which it isn't) I would have sex with my guy anyway just because it's really part of being in a relationship and it's cruel to say no unless you have a physical reason for it.

[–]SirNemesis0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I was wondering why you were getting all the downvotes. Then I noticed this: http://www.reddit.com/r/TheBluePill/comments/1xby7r/rrpw_put_on_their_blue_pill_hats_and_hamster/

[–]BakerofpieEndorsed Contributor0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, some of these stories I hear are just insane to me! I can't believe that any woman could behave in such an atrocious way, let alone most. If you look at statistics though it is really sad. I wonder if it could possibly have anything to do with the obesity epidemic in this country. Extremely overweight people tend to not have as much energy, so maybe that sways the statistics? As far as TRP it is most definitely a better safe than sorry thing and I don't fault them for that.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

they are betas married to shrews who dont respect them. this is EVERY mans fear--being beguiled into marriage to a woman who appears sweet and sexual and who turns into a sexless harpy after the baby, or after 3 years or whatever, once he's locked down

[–]spongegloss00[S] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is very true- do you think it's because she was never attracted and just wanted him for the financial security, or do you think the man becomes less masculine/in charge throughout the marriage and her attraction dries up? Do you think it's totally intentional from day 1?

[–]BakerofpieEndorsed Contributor1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

IMO it is an attraction drying up thing because women think they know what they want, or what they should want. They end up emasculating their husbands and then what do you know, they discover they have no desire to fuck a pussy worshiping man who will do anything they say.

[–]meowfacenator-2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

personally ive made it a priority to NOT be like that. Obviously if im ill or something then maybe id not want to. if Im not in the mood straight away i usually am after he starts kissing me :)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's what We're all aiming for here :-)

[–]spongegloss00[S] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

me too :) I'm trying to be really aware of it. so far i've never said no to sex with him.

[–]spongegloss00[S] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

LOL seriously! I'm not married but have been with my BF for a really, really long time (years and years) and we have sex now more than when we met.

[–]meowfacenator0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

awesome :)

[–]spongegloss00[S] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

my goal is to make sure he's so drained that he wouldn't even have the physical capability to find it elsewhere if he tried. rubs hands together evilly

sarcasm of course but ya know...lol

The old wives quip about the way to a man's heart is through his stomach is true, but they missed half. The way to keep a man is to never let him leave the house with an empty stomach or with full balls.

[–]spongegloss00[S] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

LOL right on!

[–]meowfacenator-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hahaha classic :-)

Jerk != alpha. Jerk = RP tryhard. Alpha = leader. I tend to mostly agree with what the RP guys say, or at least understand what they are trying to convey. It's important to remember that pretty much anyone can comment there. Pay attention to the endorsed contributors.

Edit: that doesn't mean an alpha guy can't be jerk sometimes, it just means that being a jerk isn't what makes him alpha.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

omg, my husband is such a jerk. we even call his certain devilish grin "the jerk smirk"
