So I started seeing this chick recently and I can say that I've had quite a nice run with her so far thanks to following basic RP guidelines, but some interesting developments have occurred that I can honestly say I was not prepared for. So a little background information on her, she is 20 and a typical tumblr girl, and has quite the affinity for posting nudes of herself every so often to get more attention than she already receives. I say this because she is into the whole cosplay/convention goer scene and in that world, she is worshiped by many a poor and nerdy soul that dreams of being the boyfriend (or girlfriend) of a hot cosplay girl. Cosplay girls show many of the same self image issues that girls who do modeling, stripping or go-go dancing have, but are usually much more socially awkward.

While at work I receive a strange message over facebook from some poor character named Kevin. After some quick facebook investigating, I find that Kevin is one of these cosplay people, with most of his profile pictures being different anime characters mixed in with blurred out selfies of him wearing sunglasses and a fedora. Oh lord. Here is the beginning of this conversation:

Kevin: Hey my name is Kevin, you may or may not have heard of me. Look i know you like Steph and she defiantly likes you i just want you to treat her like the beautiful woman she is. I care for her, so don't make her cry or sad. If you love her let her know everyday. That's all i wish you both luck.

Me: it sounds like you have some feelings for her

Kevin: She chose you not me

Me: Have you told her how you feel about her?

Kevin: Like I was said. She chose you not me. Please just make her happy. That's all I want. Just make her happy.She wants you not me. I can see it everytime I talk to her. I see hope, and life but not for me. Please please don't tell her I talked to you.

What ensued was Kevin telling me that our conversation "never happened" and that he will remain in the shadows protecting her, like he was quoting a scene from some superhero movie. What the fuck, man.

In all honesty i'm just hooking up with this chick. She's cute and has a great ass, but definitely not relationship material. I'm at a loss if I should just leave the situation or not, because from what she's told me she has a few of these crazy nerd stalkers, and Kevin, who I had never heard of, is probably one of them. I guess these types come with the territory of the whole cosplay/anime scene, but it is probably universal. I'm curious if any of you have had similar experiences and how one best resolves deflecting these orbiters in a polite yet effective way.
